Friday May 29 has arrived, and I didn’t have a post up! And then my schedular isn’t working so it’s even later! Oh, goodness! It’s been a crazy week and getting crazier all the time. 🙂 I hope you enjoy this…
Tomorrow is the original Memorial Day. (See my post from Monday), and I thought the photo and verse are something our nation needs. We also need to be praying for our leaders and our country.
2 Chronicles 7:12-16
12 the Lord appeared to him (Solomon) at night and said:
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.
13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there…”
Here’s a favorite song for national holidays. It’s a song I heard weekly since we always watch the Kate Smith show. I hope you enjoy and have a blessed weekend!

Wow! That’s an amazing photo. Is this a pic you took, Pat? And, yes, we do need that Scripture.
Going to listen to the song after I post. I’ve always loved this and Kate will do it justice!

I should have noted I didn’t take that photo. A friend in Tupelo, Mississippi, took it one evening from his deck. Isn’t it amazing, Barbara! I always think of Kate Smith when I hear this song.
Love the photo and scripture!
Enjoy your weekend!

It is a stunning photo, Priscilla. I wish I’d taken it! (See my reply to Barbara)
Beautiful photo, and we sure need to follow that verse in our country today more than ever. And, Kate Smith. What can I say. Can’t listen to that and keep a dry eye. Thank you, Pat.
I’m currently nearing the end of “Lost Lake” by Susan Sleeman, another great author. The first line is, “She was missing–maybe dead–and it was all Gabe’s fault.”
Next up is “The Targeted by Cara Putman. The good ones just keep coming.

Thanks, Tim! Yes it is a beautiful photo and a scripture we all need to heed. I’ve been reading Lisa Phillips’ Brand of Justice Series.
Great photo, scripture, and I enjoyed the video!
I just started Susan May Warren’ book coming out, Scent of Hope.

Beautiful picture.
That is on of my favorite verses, and so true!

Thanks, Arlene! It’s mine, too.
Your friend did an excellent job with the photo.
I heard of Kate Smith many years ago, but we didn’t have a TV when I was growing up. I think this is the first time I have ever seen her. I may have heard her rendition of the song before, but can’t say that with certainty.

Oh, wow, Edward. I’m glad you got to see her. We didn’t get a TV until I was in school, and this is one show we always watched.
I loved all of this!!! Thank you for sharing!!!
Kate Smith does great on this song!

She does, Judy!
You outdid yourself again Patricia! Even if you didn’t take the picture, you shared it and picked the perfect verse as always. It is stunning and gives me goosebumps!
I just barely remember Kate Smith when growing up, I know she had a great voice. I’m so thankful You Tube has all these “treasures” to take us down memory lane. I’ve been watching old classic movies on there lately, they were the best!

I’m thankful that Youtube has all these songs, too, Dottie! I’m glad you enjoyed the post!
