What I’m Reading Friday ~ Killer Exposure by Jessica R. Patch

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Another photo shot while walking just before dark. I look forward to seeing the beauty of the Lord every evening.

These past few weeks I’ve been reading more Love Inspired Suspense books so I can figure out how to write one. 🙂 The last two I’ve read were by Jessica R. Patch: Killer Exposure and Recovered Secrets. Jessica Patch, who for some reason I keep calling Robin, is an outstanding author as well as a passionate Christian, and it shows in her stories. This week, Killer Exposure:

Killer Exposure by Jessica R. PatchA killer with a secret motive…

A mother with a secret baby

Crime scene photographer Greer Montgomery didn’t expect to witness a murder at a small-town carnival—nor to be rescued by the father of her secret baby. A storm chaser, Locke Gallagher often stares down death, but he’s never known true fear until Greer’s life is at risk. But how can he protect his newly discovered family when the killer could be anyone?

My take:

I read this book in one sitting, albeit in bed, reading until 1 a.m. In another life, I would have been a storm chaser which the hero in this book is.  Locke Gallagher also has the footloose and fancy-free lifestyle that is often portrayed of storm chasers which does not encourage the heroine, Greer Montgomery, to confide in him that she had his child. She feared he would feel she had trapped him in marriage like her father always accused her mother of doing. Then her father left the family, and she is not going to allow that to happen to her daughter.

But she witnesses a murder and Locke comes to her rescue and the truth comes out, as it always does. When the murderer comes after Greer again and again, Locke is always there to help protect her and his daughter. Both characters grow by the end of the story.

This is a great story about redemption and second chances and well worth the read.

Beautiful photo, and the Scripture is one of my favorites. It was also in the book I’m reading now; “Deadlock” by James Scott Bell. A great read by the way. Thank you for introducing Mr Bell’s books to me.

I have not read any of Ms Patch’s books, but since I need to find one to start today, you have made my choice easy. Thank you!

I’m anxiously waiting for “Dangerous Deceptions” to be released.

Monsoon rains have reached Tucson! Washes are all running. Yea!

I’m eagerly awaiting Dangerous Deceptions, too, Tim! Glad you got rain…we’ve had a few thunderstorms that have cooled the heat index to under a 100 lately. 😉 I think you’ll really enjoy Jessica’s books! Have a great weekend!

I have read Jessica’s books in the past & loved them. She has a way with words 🙂 The one theme in a book I don’t really care for, is the secret baby/child. I’m sure there are legitimate reasons for that, but I cringe when I see it in the book blurb. However, I’ve also read books by authors who present it in a manner that’s gracious & endures me to the hero or heroine who has kept the secret.

I would probably read this in spite of that just because Jessica wrote it, lol!

I have this book and others of Jessica’s on my to be read list. If I can ever get caught up on books to review, I need to pick up some of the books that I really want to read.

You certainly get some good shots with your camera. Thanks for sharing them. I believe I have read at least one of Jessica Patch’s books. I need to keep her in mind when I run out of things to read. Right now, I have so many that I can’t catch up.
