More Sweet Revenge Stories–Mystery Question

More Sweet Revenge: Psalm 27:13-14More Sweet Revenge Stories is this week’s Mystery Question. But first the photo and Scripture verse. Priscilla Bettis emailed me this photo her friend Vera Day took, and immediately I knew what verse I wanted for it. It’s a gorgeous photo and so calm.

And now for last week’s Mystery Question–Revenge Can Be Sweet. I got the idea for this from Elaine Viets in a blog post about her first book, Backstab. These are true stories…except for one that I made up. Can you guess which one?
  1. There was a terrible snowstorm in St. Louis and a wife cleared out a parking space for her husband. Only to have a yuppie neighbor pull into it when she finished and refuse to move her car. The wife wanted the yuppie arrested for stealing, but the officer told her there was no law protecting her spot…and there was also no law that said she couldn’t water her lawn in February. If the neighbor’s car happened to be in the way…it took the yuppie two hours to chip off all the ice.
  2. The upstairs neighbor made a ton of noise every night starting around 9 pm. She moved furniture, argued with her husband at top volume, slammed doors, etc until way past midnight. So the mom had her daughter practice her tuba under the loud neighbor’s bedroom before school in the morning.
  3. The tenants in the downstairs apartment only ran their fan in the afternoon when they were home. The upstairs neighbor complained that the fan in the apartment below her made so much noise 24/7 that she couldn’t hear her TV. She stomped back and forth across her unit when the tenants were home, making their life miserable. When they moved out, they left the fan blowing full speed, locked the door, and dropped the key into the mail to the landlord who lived five states over.
  4. Every fall the neighbors raked their leaves in a pile for the city to come by and vacuum up. Every fall one of the neighbors who didn’t rake their leaves repeatedly drove through the piled-up leaves, scattering them everywhere. One neighbor got tired of it and placed a huge bag of pig manure in the middle and piled leaves on top of it. The neighbor never scattered the leaves again.
And the answer is…#4…I’ll have to do better this week since many of you guessed correctly. 🙂
And now for this week’s Mystery Question–More Sweet Revenge stories. These are true stories…except for one that I made up. Can you guess which one?
  1. Someone kept stealing her coffee creamer at work, so she filled the bottle with water, flour for creaminess, and a ton of salt. They clearly used it, but none of her bottles have been touched since.
  2. A worker kept stealing her coworker’s lunches at work. One person got tired of it and rubbed a ghost pepper that is ten times hotter than a habanero pepper all over her lunch meat. Problem solved.
  3. A water park had an eating area with limited time seating, and a woman pulled two tables together and set up camp with a cup of coffee and a book. After an hour, the lifeguard reminded her the seating was for a limited time, and she asked to speak to his manager and told him she had a heart condition and needed to stay there. Fast forward three hours and the lifeguard is rotated to one of the “thrill” rides, and lo and behold who should show up but the woman with the “heart condition.” The lifeguard tells her it’s too dangerous for someone with a bad heart. Again, she demands to see his manager, who happens to be the same one she’d told the “heart condition” story…
  4. He gave his girlfriend his Netflix password, and when they broke up, he asked her nicely not to use it. She kept using it. He waited until she was two seasons into Pretty Little Liar and changed the password.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a July drawing for a book from my library!

I love number four and it’s an amazing coincidence that the former girlfriend was watching pretty little liar, but I think you made up number one this time. Separately I will tell you a dilly of a true story you can use in the future. Thanks for these

Aw, thank you for using Vera’s photo! You picked a beautiful Bible verse to go with it.
I think you made up number 4 because it’s a women’s show (I think?), so why would he know what season/episode they’re on?

#3 this week. Not positive, though. I’m thinking that I just can’t see a woman going alone to a water park with coffee and a book then later doing a “thrill” ride. Guess I made the assumption that she was alone. If she hadn’t been, why not tell the lifeguard and manager she was waiting and watching others like her children.

Funny ghost pepper story! Several years ago, I was the 6th grade special needs teacher. A 6th grade student brought several ghost peppers to school. At lunch, he was daring all the students to try the peppers. He about took out all of the 6th grade. Kids had bright red faces, watery eyes, complained of burning chests, it was unbelievable! The very bad cases got sent home and the rest had to suffer the rest of the day! Sorry to say but we adults had a good giggle at their expense! Many learned a valuable lesson that day!

The picture for today is my view every day! I have sheep on one side, horses on one side and a pond on one side. I live in Amish country. I LOVE the peaceful feeling that is in the country! I spend a lot of time outside just enjoying creation!

Nice photo. I think it’s easier to wait on the Lord when our lives are calm, and the photo depicts that. It’s during the hectic time when it’s hard. Please Lord, give me patience to wait for your timing.

I think you made up #3 this week. It just seems too contrived. Why would she need two tables just to read a book?

Oh, Tim, never ask for patience! Because you know how you learn patience, right? God will send experiences to build your patience muscles. 😉 We’ll see next week if it’s #3.

#4 again because that’s just mean. Lol. And…SUPER excited for Deception, #4 in Natchez Trace series. Thanks for reminder I have a pre-order arriving soon. 🙂

Today’s photo is so calming and peaceful I had to take a deep breath just to exhale. Oh to be there! The verse spoke to me. When I was younger I believed waiting was ‘to do nothing’. Now many years later I’ve learned that to wait is actually being very active. Thank you Pat I especially needed that verse.

I laughed at #4! I do hope the ex girlfriend was able to finish her series. However I believe you made up #1. I remember a similar story. The creamer was being taken from a nursing mother in the office. After ‘adjusting’ her creamer and after some days of use, she made the announcement of what she had done during an office meeting. Her problem was forever solved!

These are all quite clever and revengeful! I’m going with #3, because that cup of coffee sure sounds good right now. Drinking coffee relaxing poolside, oh yeah. But drinking it at a noisy water park…maybe not, but maybe so! Lol

I loved the relaxing photo that Priscilla sent and the perfect Scriptures to go with it. I also LOVE cows, so as soon as I saw them in the pic, my heart thrilled with joy!

I can easily see how 1, 2 and 4 could happen. My dad worked construction for a while and brought ice and water in an igloo cooler everyday. He noticed several workers were helping themselves to his cooler each day. He got tired of it so one day he added a laxative to the water cooler. He had hidden his own separate water. He laughed to himself as he noticed workers running to the woods all day. Never had the problem again.
I’m going to guess #3 although it was quite lengthy.

That is truly a restful picture and a great verse. It looks like a beautiful place to live, however I would want to be upwind from it. LOL!

I’m choosing #1. I think I scanned through a list of revenge stories just the other day and read most of these. The primary difference is that the person whose creamer was being stolen placed a note on her creamer at the end of the week stating she hoped they had enjoyed her creamer. It was actually her breast milk. She went on to say that it was all natural and organic so there should be no problem. I’m guessing you saw that one and changed it up a bit.

Actually, Edward, I didn’t see that particular one, but it’s a good one…not saying for sure whether or not the one I made up is #1. For that you’ll have to wait until next Tuesday!

I’m going with the crowd on this one and guessing #3, although I can definitely see it being true! The lengths some people are willing to go…..
