I Can’t Make These Up

My copy of Justice Delivered just arrived! I love this cover! It will release April 5, 2019, and you can preorder it here.

Now on to last week’s Mystery Question, and I’m going to make sure I give the answer this time! Here’s the Mystery Question:
  1. The woman managed to get the hose and turned it on him until a police officer noticed the altercation but it was too late and the woman died.
  2. The man quickly confessed to the murder and was arrested.
  3. The man had previously tried to poison his wife so a speedy trial with a conviction was expected.
  4.  The man was found not guilty after an autopsy revealed she would have died from sickle-cell anemia the next day.

And the answer is…#1. Congrats to all who guessed #1. Here’s the link to where I found the crime: Just Walk on By.

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Three of the following crimes are true. I made up one. Which did I make up? Leave your guess in the comments.
  1. An unidentified man, using a shotgun like a club to break a former girlfriend’s windshield, accidentally shot himself to death when the gun discharged, blowing a hole in his gut.
  2. A man accidentally shot himself to death when he awakened to the sound of a ringing telephone beside his bed, he reached for the phone but instead grabbed a Smith & Wesson 38 Special, which discharged when he drew it to his ear.
  3. A couple was watching a ten o’clock newscast where an individual was threatening to jump from a ledge. The man said he would jump, and the woman argued he wouldn’t. Unfortunately, he did and the woman was impressed with her friend’s knowledge of human nature. The man finally told her he wasn’t that smart–the news report was a repeat of an earlier broadcast. She replied that she’d seen it too, but didn’t think he would jump a second time.
  4. Police said a man demonstrating the safety of windows in a skyscraper rammed the pane with his shoulder and crashed through and plunged to his death. He was explaining the strength of the building’s windows to visiting law students.

Okay, Mystery Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave a comment and I’ll enter you in this month’s drawing for a book from my library. And I would really appreciate it if you would tweet the following:

I’m trying to understand #3…I guess the crime part of it has nothing to do with the couple watching the broadcast? It sounds like a made up joke….but rather too far fetched to be made up. 😉 I think I will guess #4.
But really, all of these are somewhat unbelievable!! Where do you find these??!! 🙂

They all sound farfetched but #3 made LOL ! I’m going to go with the popular vote of 2 though.
Congratulations on your book arrival. I’ve like all your book covers !

#3. I agree that it sound like a joke. Can anybody be that stupid? Well, yes, unfortunately.

You made up #3, but the walking past a murderer site is absolutely chilling and the acquitted verdict for the hose murderer is frankly almost unbelievable. I guess that is the key to meeting murderers–walk on by!

I believe 4 is the made up one, as I have heard of numbers two and three as well as possiblity number one as they all seem familiar to me.

I’m going with #4 this week because it’s not popular, lol! But I can totally see any of these happening 🙂

Congrats on the new book! I am loving that cover. Did you ever come up with the name of your new series? I know you were asking about it a couple of weeks ago or so.

Hi Trixi! No name yet, but it will have something to do with park rangers. We are just starting to work on titling. I’ll keep you posted. For now I’m calling the book I’m working on Natchez Standoff. Thank for asking.

I’ll pick 3. I think someone emailed me some of the other ones. Some people are certainly stupid!

I believe I overthink these. Logic has nothing to do with what the criminal mind can concoct. I’m going with 2 this time. Even if it’s true, it seems the most far-fetched of them all. Maybe that’s where I go wrong. The more far-fetched, the more likely they are to be true, possibly?

Hmmmm. Edward I usually overthink things, too. But reading these crimes has helped me to not do that. lol Thanks for stopping by. We’ll see next week if the popular #2 is correct.
