Twilight Tactics ~ Reader Friday

Patricia Bradley Reader Friday 2 Comments

Twilight Tactics by Lynette Eason is this week’s Reader Friday! Here’s the opening: “FBI Special Agent Collin Sullivan—aka Sully—gripped the SUV’s wheel and glanced in the rearview mirror once more. The silver sedan was still there, following at a discreet distance, but it was enough to set his teeth on edge.”

But first the photo and verse. I took the photo from the rooftop of the Bristol Hotel Sunday night. We’d gone there to look at the Bristol skyline when suddenly people were rushing to the railing with their cameras. I looked to see why, and the moon was just topping the trees. It was beautiful. I snapped several pics and will use them and others in the coming weeks. The verse is one I claimed a long time ago. I just need to remember that God will fight my battles for me, if I’ll let him.

Here’s the cover and back copy for Twilight Tactics Soldiers in Shadows, Book #1 by Lynette Eason:

Twilight Tactics by Lynette EasonFBI agent Collin Sullivan arrives at Broken Chains Ranch with Ollie Callahan—a foster teen and sole witness to a mob hit. The ranch, started by Collin’s cousin to provide a trauma recovery facility for veterans, should be a place he can keep Ollie safe until the trial. But what was meant as a peaceful haven becomes a battleground when armed attackers surround the property.

Survival expert Elena Thompson teaches wilderness skills at the ranch and coaches Ollie in self-defense. But soon the series of attacks on the ranch escalates into a full siege. The question is, Who are the attackers after? Ollie, the young witness? Or Elena, with her mysterious past? Cut off from help by tech skills superior to their own, Collin and Elena fight to keep everyone alive as secrets and danger close in.

USA Today bestselling author Lynette Eason presents an action-packed start to a new series with twists and turns readers will never see coming.

My take:

This was one wild and twisty story. Lynette has outdone herself with Twilight Tactics. The story grabbed me from the first page and never let go. Sully is a fantastic hero, and Elena was an amazing heroine. The two of them together made quite a combination. And Ollie, the young witness, was amazing. I was rooting for her from the get-go.

The story has twists that I didn’t see coming. I listened to it and made up excuses to clean house so I could pop in my earbuds and listen to more of the story. I totally recommend this high-octane story!
