Reader Friday Post is just that this week, unfortunately! I received my edits back for more changes Wednesday and didn’t think about the Friday post until 11:30 Thursday night. 🙂 Afraid I must just leave you with this meme–I love rainbows.

Oh, and I want you to know that my publisher, Revell is running a Goodreads giveaway for Counter Attack! They’re running it until May 15, 2023. So be sure to hop over there and enter. And it’d be great if you clicked to add Counter Attack to your books you want to read!

One more thing!! For an additional chance to win Counter Attack, leave a comment here and include how much time is left for the giveaway! The answer is located in the column where it says to ENTER, right below the Giveaway ends in: XX days, minutes, and seconds. 🙂 (available in US in print; digital everywhere else) Winners announced May 16, 2023!

You are amazing. You stay up till almost midnight to read for the book club, write your blog at 11:30 pm and still keep up with the editing and rewrites for deadline. I aspire to have your dedication as a writer. You are an inspiration. Thank you.

I love rainbows, too, especially double bows! And the verse you chose is perfect for the photo. God is faithful!

Aha, found it: Giveaway ends in: 24 days and 18:29:05

I am reading “Broker of Lies” by Steven James. While the first line(s) are not too exciting, there is a line a ways in that defines the direction of the plot: “No, they didn’t know me. They came there for you, and they didn’t want you dead. I let that sink in.”

I also just finished “Blind Trust” by Natalie Walters. It’s a great ending to the SNAP series.

    Beautiful rainbows! Peaceful!

Wow, the edits got back really fast. I thought you might at least get a weeks break. No rest for the weary. I’ll be praying.

Starting Her Darkest Secret, by Jessica R. Patch, tomorrow when there is daylight! LOL “ Here, Kitty, Kitty.” His voice echoed through the forest” are the first two lines.

I highly recommend reading Her Darkest Secret in the daytime! And thanks for the prayers, Barbara! I just emailed the completed edits in. This weekend I’ll work on character descriptions and a timeline for the next editor.

It is already on my want to read list on GR. 24 days 13:45:50 left.
I am about to start The Secret to Happiness by Suzanne Woods Fisher. The first line:
    Penn State Ice Cream School
    State College, Pennsylvania
    Friday, January 21
Ah, the irony. Two months ago, Callie Dixon had been the executive chef at one of the largest convention hotels in Boston, a hotel so highly esteemed that the Food Safety Conference chose to hold their annual meeting there.

Started the third book in the Pink Pistol Sisterhood series starting with Karen Witemeyer (In Her Sights) and other authors…seven books in all. The books start with Annie Oakley giving the heroine a pistol inlaid with a pink mother-of-pearl handle, which then gets passed around to other women looking for love. Fun series so far! My first couple of lines from “Love Under Fire” by Cheryl Pierson:

“Krissy Donavan had agreed to do this charity work Miz Oakley requested for the orphanage, but she did not have to like it. This certainly went above and beyond anything she’d expected her father to ask of her.”

I already entered the contest on Goodreads and put it on my want-to-read shelf. The contest has 24 days, 05:30:16 left on it

I’ve already pre-bought my print copy of Counter Attack so if I get lucky enough to win a copy I’ll give it to a friend that’s also looking forward to reading this series. I’m really happy it’s going to be a series with the next book already in the works. I grew up playing chess and think your premise is intriguing. Contest ends in 24 days and 4:19:51.

My first line today is from Dawn’s Untrodden Green by Carolyn Miller:
    Wooler Northumberland 1812
Stapleton Court of Wooler had, in its day, oft been described as a monument to quiet pretention.

20 days and 2:19:56 left remaining when I entered the GoodReads giveaway, plus I had already listed Counter Attack as a Want To Read, I can’t wait!!

Don’t you just love double rainbows! We had one just like that last week after all these storms had come up from Mississippi and Alabama. I went out and took several pictures, it was so close I wanted to go look for the pot of gold!
I’m currently reading 4th book in the Restoration series by Terri Blackstock, Dawn’s Light, about when the grid goes out. I’ve lost a lot of sleep reading these books!
Good luck with all your edits, I look forward to it.
