Reader Friday ~ Justice Delivered

Justice Delivered is here!

It was supposed to be release day today, but Justice Delivered actually released Monday, April 1. (Ironic, no?) No matter, it’s out now and I love the cover!

It wasn’t an easy book to write, maybe because I want it to make a difference in the world. I dedicated it to Advocates for Freedom, an organization in Mississippi that works to relocate victims of human trafficking.

This is the story of a woman who escaped human trafficking only to put herself back in danger to stop the man who kidnapped her. It’s also David and Maggie’s story. I kind of left them hanging in Justice Delayed. I really enjoyed their journey and getting to know Lexi, David’s daughter. She’s a fighter.

I can’t believe I’ve written ten books and two novellas in five years! So if you have a dream, go for it. Those five years would have passed whether I wrote the books or not. But because I persevered, stayed home a lot of times when I would have liked to join my friends, and did without sleep, I have something that will outlast me. 🙂

Oh, before I forget, if you’ll hop over to the Suspense Sisters, you can read the opening scene of Justice Delivered! And it’s another chance to win a copy of the book–just leave a comment!

I’m also excited with the Amazon rankings!

I’m not going to put the back cover copy up again, but I am going to add a review from Suspense Magazine:

The awesome Memphis Cold Case novels continue. Just as riveting as the ones that came before (i.e., “Justice Delayed,” “Justice Buried,” and “Justice Betrayal”), Patricia Bradley writes yet another that will earn a prominent place on your bookshelf.

Carly Smith has a dark past. Not only has she been a victim of sex trafficking, she has a background of being played by horrible men, facing nothing but rejection and judgment from her family, and being consistently ignored by police officers who took an oath to help and protect.

Carly has learned horrible lessons while being on the brink of death many a time. She has also grown a spine that makes her tougher than she’s ever been…but the fear still lies in her mind. Escaping her captors, Carly works every day to rebuild her world, although she’s constantly haunted by the fact that, because she was afraid of being put back into captivity, she never told the police about a man who still lurks out there in the world. A man who runs the ultimate scam of baiting vulnerable young women by pretending that he’s an agent who discovers models.

In this new book the past comes back to hit her upside the head once again, as Carly’s very own niece becomes the victim of a kidnapping. Trying to put her fears aside, she heads to the police with the information. But when the officers once again prove they are not someone she can rely upon, Carly takes up the challenge and goes after the villains all by herself.

Patricia Bradley has made a tough character in a tough world, which makes this series one that you cannot put down until the final page has been read.

I’m right proud of that review. 🙂

As you know I write suspense with a twist of romance. Do you think I need more romance?  Leave a comment, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for Justice Delivered. That’s in addition to the regular monthly drawing for a book from my library. Winner will be drawn Monday night.

And the winner of this month’s drawing for a book from my library is Gloria A!

I’d really appreciate it if you’d tweet this!

Happy Release Day!! I like a little romance but really. More in the mystery/suspense :). I haven’t read this one yet, and would love to have the chance. Hopefully I can win it somewhere!

I definitely don’t think this book is an April Fools joke. This is a different kind of suspense for me as I know very little about human trafficking. Thank you for dedicating it to an organization that’s making a difference. I’m sure this book was difficult for you to write.

That’s a great review from Suspense Magazine, but you need to let them know the third book in this series is “Justice Betrayed” and not “Justice Betrayal.” Oops! I’ve read the first three Memphis Cold Case Novels, and I’m looking forward to reading this one too. Draw my name please!

Just finished reading Justice Delivered and thoroughly enjoyed it! As soon as I finished I thought ‘Gosh, I hope there’s at least one more in the series!’
You’ve expertly balance the thrill of suspense with the sweetness of romance. I’ll just have to hope there’s a book 5!

Lydia, you’ve made my day! Thank you for reading Justice Delivered and taking the time to email me! Right now there won’t be another cold case novel, but I’ve just turned in the first book in the Natchez Park Rangers series. And have you read the Logan Point series?
