Pursued in the Wilderness by Loretta Eidson is this week’s Reader Friday. Here’s the first line: “What is it this time, Nick?” Brooke Chandler looked at her cell and rolled her eyes.
Before I tell you what I think of Loretta Eidson’s fabulous book, the photo and verse. It’s another photo from my Seattle trip, also taken at the Seattle Japanese Garden (Earlier I had erroneously called it Seward Park). I love the verse from Isaiah! It’s God’s promise to us that He endures forever.

Wow ! Sounds like a page turner!
My first line Friday contribution comes from Your book, Pat!
“Today was not a good day to die.” Great book, great series!
Author
Thanks, Paula!! And I believe you would enjoy Loretta’s book. And it releases September 28th not November!
Beautiful photo in a beautiful park, and all the beauty doesn’t come close to matching the Word of God who created it.
Ms Eidson’s book sounds like a real thriller, and with a K-9 to boot!
“Bristol Steele believed in perfect days. Today wasn’t one of them. Not even close.” is the first line of “Forged in Steele” by Susan Sleeman. This is #3 in her Steele Guardians series. I don’t Susan can write a bad book. I’ve enjoyed every one of hers so far.

I don’t think she can either, Tim. Love Susan’s books. In fact have that on on my Kindle to read!
sounds interesting

It is, BN!
Sounds like a clever and most intriguing plot. Definitely a must read! Great review, Pat. You got me hooked.
And I would love a walk through that gorgeous park!
No new book for me. I haven’t gotten past my last few chapters of last weeks book and I’m suffering reading withdrawals!

It is, Barbara. I think you would really enjoy the park. Now get back to reading!
This sounds like a good book. I love stories with K-9 dogs in them.

Me, too, Lynn. I think you’d enjoy this book!
Thanks for sharing! This sounds like an “edge of your seat” suspense book! I put it on my request list to give to the Bookmobile for the next time they are in my town!

It is, MS Barb!
Sounds like an interesting book. i am reading Harvest Moon by Denise Hunter. The first line: It was not the sort of day when bad things happened.
Author
Love that first line, Gloria!
I’m always happy to learn about a new romantic suspense and Loretta’s book sounds great! I’m currently reading Amish Jane Doe by Shelley Shepard Gray and the first line is ‘Busy’s Amish Market still smelled the same, like fresh bread, strawberries, lemon furniture polish and clean cotten.’ Makes you feel like you really are at Busy’s Amish Market!

That first line really puts you in the scene, Connie!
I have been to Seward Park. It’s a great place to go for walks, enjoy the trees, skip stones, row a boat, stuff like that. Pursued in the Wilderness sounds good! First line from my current read: “As I start into a pair of gorgeous green eyes, ones I should be smitten with, they’re so attractive, all I can think is that whoever said life doesn’t always turn out the way you planned wasn’t kidding.” -Plotting for Murder by Tamra Baumann.

Hi Vera. I mistakenly called the Seattle Japanese Garden Seward Park. Thirty lashes with a wet noodle. We went to both, but I didn’t take a photo of the Japanese Garden so I thought all the photos came from Seward park. :-/ And your first line is so intriguing that I have to check this book out!
Love the picture and verse.
I just started Boughs of Folly by Sandra Orchard. I actually have it beside me. The first line is:
As Jillian Green navigated the long, tree-lined drive leading to her home, she couldn’t help but smile at the sight of Belle Haven.

At eighty feet tall with a spread of forty feet, the southern magnolia tree was known to get out of hand in our part of South Carolina, which was nestled smack-dab in the middle of the heart-shaped state. Under the Magnolias, T. I. Lowe
