Patient 7 by Sabrina Wade is this week’s Mystery Question. Here’s the first paragraph: I shouldn’t be doing this. That’s what I tell myself as I turn off the main road and slip beneath Mercy Bridge. I kill the headlights the moment the concrete surrounds me.
But first the photo and verse. I was outside late one afternoon when I looked toward the woods and saw these visitors. I didn’t have my phone, so I quickly borrowed one and snapped this photo. Two seconds later, they bounded away. The bucks are still in velvet, meaning they haven’t shed the covering on their antlers. I love that verse and thought it fit the verse.
Now for Patient 7 by Sabrina Wade. Here’s the cover and back copy:
A psychiatric patient who predicts murders… down to the details.

Because if Patient 7 knows how this ends, the final murder may not just explain why Colton vanished.
It may be the one no one sees coming.
My Take:
BN100 left a comment that she was reading Patient 7 a couple of weeks ago on the Friday blog, and the title intrigued me, so I hopped over to Amazon to see what it was about. The back copy drew me in, then I read the first chapter, and I quickly downloaded it from KU. Patient 7 by Sabrina Wade is a fantastic psychological thriller. I could not put the book down.
I was quickly drawn to psychiatrist Dr. Rachel Hadley and Detective Archer Lane, both burned by love and married to their jobs. The twists and turns of the story kept me flipping pages to see what was happening next…and the ending will blow you away. Each character is so well written. This was my first book by Sabrina Wade, and it won’t be my last.

Beautiful deer! Patient 7 sounds gripping. I am reading The Whispers of Eden by Kurt Barnes. It’s a pre-flood Biblical fiction novel. The first sentence: Enoch stood in the cool, pre-dawn stillness beside the great stone altar, its surface cold and solid beneath his weathered palms.

“Patient 7” sounds like a really good read.
I’m currently reading the second book (“Critical Threat”) of the Honor Bound Heroes series. Each book has three novels, and I’ve just started the second novel of this book. So far, each novel has been a winner. I hope the authors consider making each into its own series. The first lines of the one I’m reading now, “Blast Radius” by Ellie Kay, are: “Twenty minutes into the patrol, the leash jerked taut, wrenching Riley’s shoulder forward. Ares froze mid-stride, then dropped into a rigid sit beside storm drain SW-23.” The plot involves an Explosives Ordinance Detection K-9 team at Elgin AFB.

That is amazing to see that many bucks with large antlers in your yard. Wow! Our son sends pictures of deer in his neighborhood but not a lot of bucks. I bought Patient7 but haven’t started it yet. I am reading a mainstream book, The Summer Guests by Tess Gerritsen, and the mystery is very good. I finished The Castle in the Glen by Rhys Bowen earlier this week. The first line is:

I don’t get it. All I ever see around my house are does and fawns. You have a whole woods full of bucks. Something doesn’t add up. LOL! Great picture and verse. I love that song, too. It’s a bit sad to watch those older videos. Too many of the old ones and some of the younger ones have died. The young ones in those videos are now getting gray on the top.
