Deadly Exposure by Lisa Phillips is this week’s Reader Friday. It’s book 1 in the Double Down Series, and I am really enjoying it!
Here’s the first paragraph: Master Chief Bradley Harris did his best to disguise the limp in his stride. The man walking beside him was an old friend. Steve Preston led him down a wide hallway, gesturing as they went. “We have a gun range, workout room, a movie theater and a down room with bunks. A couple of the guys live out of town, so they sleep here if they don’t have the time to get home. The warehouse on the north side is for mock-ups.”
Now for the photo and verse. I took this eight years ago on a cruise with my literary agency. One of the best parts of the cruise was the sunsets. I’m afraid I didn’t get up early enough for the sunrise. lol And I love that verse!

My take:
This is a great romantic suspense that will have you flipping the pages to see what happens next. This is the first book in the series, and you will want to get all four books. There is an overarching story will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Alexis and Rachel are hiding something, and Bradley is determined to get to the bottom of it. When Rachel is kidnapped, Bradley sets out to find her before she is killed. At the same time, he intends to clear Alexis’ name. The action is fast, but Bradley and Alexis find time to rekindle their love. This is a story readers of Lynette Eason will enjoy.

I LOVE “Take My Hand, Precious Lord”! I’m not surprised you’re enjoying Deadly Exposure. Lisa Phillips is a talented author. I am reading The Radiance of Grace by Margaret Cotton, a historical novel about the Quakers in 17th century Massachusetts. The first line which takes place at a hanging:
I search for my mother’s face in the growing crowd of citizens, the best and the worst of Boston, those whose hearts break with compassion and those whose hardened hearts are unbreakable.

I have to read more of Lisa’s books. She’s a great weaver of Christian suspense stories.
