Wacky 9-1-1 Calls ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 44 Comments

Wacky 9-1-1 Calls is this week’s Mystery Question. I’ve enjoyed finding these posts in my archives! Now for the photo and verse.

Since I posted a sunset on Friday, I thought I’d post a sunrise for today. It’s another one from my son-in-law, Jeff, while he was out fishing on Lake Okeechobee right at dawn. The verse says it all.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question, which asked about things you could insure.
  1. A jewelry store offered to refund their Christmas sales if the city got more than three inches of snow on Christmas day. Good thing because they got eight inches.
  2. After someone attempted to steal Liberace’s candelabra, he insured it for one million dollars.
  3. Speaking of celebrities, J. Lo insured her rear for $27 million dollars.
  4. A burglar who was trapped in his victim’s garage for a week after the garage opener malfunctioned. He sued the homeowners for mental anguish and collected a million dollars.

And the answer is #2. If Liberace ever insured his candelabra, I can’t find any record of it. 🙂 I cannot believe #4. It happened in Australia, so maybe it’s different down there.

Now for this week’s Wacky 9-1-1 Calls Mystery Question. Three are true, one is made up–can you guess which one?
  1. “9-1-1. What is your emergency?” “Uhh, I uh, want to report Taco Bell is out of taco shells. Can you do something about it?”
  2. “9-1-1. What is your emergency?” ” I’d like to call and report a fire on the hillside just East of the city. 911: “Can you be more specific?” “Oh,no! It’s getting bigger! The whole top of the hill is on fire now! 911: “Stay calm sir, we’re sending somebody out.” “Doesn’t anybody else see this?! It’s lighting up the sky around it…it’s huge! Oh…oh, wait…911: “Sir?” “I am SO sorry…I’m not usually out this time of night, I just got off work late…that’s, that’s the sun…
  3. “9-1-1. What is your emergency?” “My kid is allergic to peanuts. I’m afraid he’s going to die.” 911: “Has he consumed peanuts?” “Uh, no. But he’s playing with those peanuts Amazon packs their boxes with.”
  4. “9-1-1. What is your emergency?” “My husband is up in a tree, and he won’t come down.” “911: Why is he in the tree?” “Hold on. Harold! Why are you up in that tree? The 9-1-1 operator hears his answer… “It was that or kill you.”
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for …something…a water bottle!

For the next few weeks, I’m going to feature one of my earlier books. This week it’s The Christmas Campaign. I wrote it for the Harlequin Heartwarming line, and the ebook on Amazon is on sale for $1.99!
The Christmas Campaign by Patricia Bradley

Two candidates cast votes for each other’s heart—but a third contender is now in the running in this holiday romance from the USA Today–bestselling author.

Running for mayor of his Mississippi town wasn’t even a twinkle in Peter Elliott’s eye. But it could bring Cedar Grove’s favorite son one step closer to his dream of building a youth center. He’d better watch out, though. Town councilwoman Nicole Montgomery has just thrown her hat into the ring.

The independent, smart-as-a-whip brunette is leagues away from the bookish girl Peter knew in high school. And he knows in his heart that Nicole would make a great mayor. So does his cousin Jake, who could be edging out Peter in his campaign to convince the love-wary beauty that he’s the best candidate for her.

You can get it on Amazon for $1.99!

Now for today’s song. It’s one I listened to as a teenager.

Wonderful sunrise and Bible verse. I’m picking number 4 this week. They’re all hilarious, by the way, but have you climbed a tree lately? It’s hard, so number 4 it is!

Another great photo from Jeff! And, who better to trust than the Lord? Thank you for sharing.

    911 Calls:
    #1. But of course!
    #2. Was alcohol involved?
#3. Done in by packing peanuts.
    #4. Up a tree…
#2 and #3 are very suspicious, but #4??? You had to have made up #4. Just too crazy.

Probably, Delores, although I do remember a woman suing McDonalds because her coffee was too hot…that’s why we have tepid coffee from to-go places. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #3!

Great picture and verse. Jeff seems to be in the right place at the right time to get some good shots. I hope he is as successful at catching fish.

I think you and I must have listened to the same type of music on the radio when we were kids and teenagers.

    1. One shell short of a taco meal, was he?
    2. I remember this one.
    3. Let’s all sing another round of “Found a Peanut.”
    4. I heard the old expression, “You’re driving me up a tree!”, many times over the years. Apparently this wife accomplished it. But I think you made it up.

I’m pretty sure we did listen to the same music, Edward. 🙂 And Jeff goes fishing early, catches quite a few that he releases–you can’t eat the fish that come out of Lake Okeechobee. I love your commentary on the calls…We’ll see next week if it’s the popular #4…
