Twice Dumb Criminals ~ Mystery Question

Twice Dumb Criminals; Psalm 36:5

Twice Dumb Criminals is this week’s Mystery Question. But first the photo and Scripture verse.

I love the way the blue skies and lighter clouds arc under the dark clouds. I’m anxious to see what Barbara and a few others will see different things in the clouds. 🙂 I took this one day as I walked from my neighbor’s house to mine, and the verse just seemed to fit. I love looking at the clouds and imagining all sorts of things. 🙂

And now for last week’s Mystery Question–Really Incompetent Criminals. As usual, three of these crimes really happened, and I made one up. Can you guess which one?
  1. Police listed their 10 most wanted criminals on social media. In doing so insulted a man who wondered why he’d been left off the list. “What about me?” he asked in the comments section. Officers replied, “You are correct. You have two warrants. We are on the way.” Police arrested him on charges of violating probation.
  2. A thief walked into a Walmart and being a thief, pocketed a few items. He might have gotten away with it had he only turned around. Forty uniformed police officers milled about as part of their annual Shop with a Cop event.
  3. Police became suspicious when teens lined up at an herbal stand at a local market. They arrested the owner when the dried oregano turned out to be marijuana. Police do know the difference.
  4. A woman stole her mother’s Mini Cooper and drove it till she could go no farther. That’s because the route she took happened to be where road crews were laying concrete. The car got stuck and she had to hoof it out, only to be arrested later.

And the answer is…#3. Congrats to all who answered correctly.

And now for this week’s Mystery Question–Twice Dumb Criminals. As usual, three of these crimes really happened, and I made one up. Can you guess which one?
  1. Police pulled over a woman driving a stolen Dodge Charger. Her boyfriend quickly arrived, started talking smack to the officer, and the officer quickly arrested him. Seems he was driving a stolen Cadillac.
  2. The bank robber’s probation ended in December. In January, police arrested him for trying to rob another bank.
  3. A man successfully broke into a bank’s basement through a street-level window, cutting himself up pretty badly. He then realized that: (1) he could not get to the money from where he was,(2) he could not climb back out the window through which he had entered, and (3) he was bleeding pretty badly. So he located a phone and dialed “911” for help …
  4. Convicted of robbery, a man worked out a deal to pay $9600 in damages rather than serve a prison sentence. For payment, he provided the court a check — a *forged* check. He got 10 years.

Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library. May’s winner is of a book from my library is… L. Murphy

#3 (They’re all “doozies!) I would like to hope that they’re all made up, but, unfortunately…

I’ve been terrible at these lately… which means you’re really good at making up the fake one. This week I’m going with number 1 because that was an extra stupid thing for the boyfriend to do.

“I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now” is what I thought of when I saw your photo, Pat. The verse you picked is a good reminder of the enormousness of God’s love and faithfulness.

These are tough ones to crack this week. I’m going with #1 as the one you made up. Surely, no one is dumb enough to confront the cops while driving a stolen car. But, then…

Thank you for stretching our brains, and giving us a good laugh while you’re at it, Pat.

What a clever angle on this photo, Pat! My first impression felt like I was viewing a whale watching in crystal clear waters. Pretty amazing site. Then I burst out laughing, because one whale on the left looked like a huge Turkey drumstick!
Next, I noticed a shark chasing a whale. However, my first thought was whoa, what a big goldfish!
In the darker blue clouds, I saw a helicopter, pair of lungs, swan and a dog’s muzzle. I know, sounds crazy. You can imagine how vivid I dream at night.

There is not a single cloud in my sky today, so I’m glad I could visualize in yours.

Don’t you know God enjoys his creation, too?

Now to try to solve the twice dumb mysteries. Ha! Oh gracious! What a task!
Going with #1, because he started talked smack to the officer.

Wow, even though you made one up, I have a feeling they all have actually happened somewhere in the world, but I chose #1. If it hasn’t happened yet, it will! 🙂

Love those clouds and blue sky. A wonderful choice for the verse.

I think you made up #2. It’s a spinoff of the third one. That guy attempted to rob a bank and was unsuccessful. He got probation. During that time, he decides he will try again after his probation. Unfortunately, he failed again and was caught again. Yep, I’m guessing 2 is not real.

Yay!! Thank you! I’m so excited to receive one of your books!
These criminals!!! I’m sure you have fun trying to come up with a hairbrained scenario to match what they have done in real life! I’m going to guess #4 this time.
