More From the Blotter~Mystery Question

More From the Blotter; Zephaniah 3:17

More From the Blotter is this Week’s Mystery Question. These are working pretty well, so I found a few more for this week. 😉 And I really can’t believe people would give these to the police as excuses! But first the photo and verse.

The photo is once again from my friend Cheryl Meints. I thought this would be a great verse for Valentine’s Day. Not everyone has that special person Valentine’s Day seems to represent, but I like to think of Valentine’s Day as one to think about all the people we love. And God is our ultimate Loved One…this verse represents (to me) how He feels about His Valentines.

Now for the answer to last week’s Mystery Question–From the Blotter…
  1. “I was on a one-way street going the right way when I realized someone had moved the sign and I was no longer going the right way.”
  2. “I was backing my car out of the driveway in the usual manner when it was struck by the other car in the same place where it had been struck several times before.”
  3. “I was sure the old fellow would never make it to the other side of the road when I struck him.”
  4. “When I could not avoid a collision, I stepped on the gas and crashed into the other car.”

And the answer is…#1. Congrats to those who guessed correctly!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Again, I’m staying with the blotter reports. Three are true and one is false. It is your job to guess the false one!
  1. “No one was to blame for the accident, but it never would have happened if the other driver had been alert.”
  2. “My car was legally parked as it backed into the other vehicle.”
  3. “I got there first, but I had to knock his car out of the way to get the parking space.”
  4. “I was on the way to the doctor with rear end trouble when my universal joint gave way causing me to have an accident.”
So, Mystery Sleuths, which is the false statement? Leave a comment and I’ll enter you in a February drawing for a book from my library!
More From the Blotter is this week's Mystery Question. As always three are true, one I made up. Can you guess which one? Leave a comment and I'll enter you in a February drawing for a book from my library! Click To Tweet
ONE MORE THING! MidSouth Christian Writers’ Conference is March 17-18! If you’re an aspiring writer, this is a great conference that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. 😉 It’s in Collierville, Tennessee (just outside of Memphis). You can check out all the great workshops here. The Early Bird ends today, February 14!

Number 4 makes me laugh! Was the person going to a proctologist? I’m guessing number 2, but it’s probably wrong… I didn’t see a scripture verse.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! ❤️

    Happy Valentine’s Day, all.

We live in a world full of crazy excuses. At least Pat puts them to good purpose in this blog. Thank you for making us all laugh.

I believe you made up #3. Reminds me of the old Abbot & Costello routine of “Who’s on first?”

These are all crazy! How to pick one??? I’m going with #4, because I think a police officer would shake his head in disbelief at this statement.

    Happy Valentine’s Day Blog family!

Beautiful waterfall! My wife and I visited several North Carolina waterfalls last June. I have one of the pictures as my background picture on my laptop. Excellent choice of Scripture verse!

Every week when I open your email and go to the blog, I keep hoping something will just jump off the page, saying “pick me.” It still hasn’t happened. You do a great job of making up one each time. Have you ever thought about making a list of your made-up responses and keeping it in your car in case you ever need a good excuse? LOL! I’m choosing #4 because I think it would take some thought to come up with an excuse like that (still trying to figure out how a universal joint giving out would cause an accident). The other three seem to demonstrate an inability to explain details very well. This one had a questionable detail about whether the driver or the vehicle had rear-end trouble, but the rest of it was clear enough.

I believe. I often go back to check my answer from the previous week to see if I got it right.
