More Crazy Laws #20 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 37 Comments

More Crazy Laws #20 is this week’s Mystery Question. It just amazes me how dumb some of these laws are. But first the photo and verse. This photo was taken last week when conditions came together to create this beautiful sky. It was amazing. Once again, I was at the right place at the right time! And I thought the verse was perfect!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Just like with dumb crimes, three of these laws are really on the city books in different states, and I made one up. Note someone compiled this list in 2011 and some laws can be quite old. Can you guess which one I made up?
  1. After a state passed an anti-noise law, police fined a grandmother for honking her horn three times at her neighbor.
  2. In this state, it is illegal to take a bath unless instructed to do so by a physician. (Massachusetts)
  3. It is illegal to catch bullfrogs in a tomato patch. (Kansas)
  4. Shoelaces must be tied while walking down the street in this state. (Maine)

And the answer is…#1…Congrats to all who guessed correctly!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Just like with dumb crimes, three of these laws are really on the city books in different states, and I made one up. Note someone compiled this list in 2011 and some laws can be quite old. Can you guess which one I made up?
  1. You may not step out of a plane in flight.
  2. Here it is illegal to keep a flock of geese in your RV.
  3. It is illegal to drive a camel on the highway.
  4. In this state, it’s against the law to kill a housefly within 160 feet of a church without a license.

Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!

What a beautiful photo, Pat! That’s going to be in my mind all day. I like that translation of Ps 19:1. “are telling” and “is declaring” show the ongoing nature of God’s creation shouting out praise to Him.

#1 seems prudent, and probably doesn’t need to be a law. But then, when could one have fun sky diving?
#2 must be a law against being crazy. Who else would have a flock of geese in their RV?
#3 makes me laugh. I’ll race my Mustang against your Camel any day. At least mine would be street legal.
#4 seems a bit impractical if not illogical, which means some dummies would have enacted it.
Given all that, I say you made up #2 just to keep crazies from messing up their RVs.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Wow! That’s some photo! Love the brilliance of the sky and the verse that can’t even begin to measure the expanse of God’s everything.

#1 It may be illegal, but stepping out of a plane in flight happens. However, they might not have lived to brag about it.
#2 I’d say people keep all kinds of animals in their RV, a flock of geese no exception. Imagine opening the door to go back inside. Lol
#3 I wouldn’t want to ride a camel on a U.S. highway, but highways are different overseas. There might only be one lane with slow traffic. So, I’d think it would be safe.
#4 I hope you made up this one. I think most folks would be grateful to have the pest out of sight. But be assured, another one will pop up pretty soon.

Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving blog family.

Amazing photo!!! So gorgeous! Reminds me of the old hymn, “When morning guilds the skies, my heart awaking cries, ‘May Jesus Christ be praised!'”
These laws have been fantastic! They really make one wonder what people were thinking or doing… 🙂 I’m going to guess #4 this week.
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

The verse describes the picture perfectly. I can’t think of a thing to add.

If #4 is a law, I guess lots of churches set up their picnic shelters for their dinners on the grounds well over 160 feet from the church building. Or maybe they went to a local park. I can’t imagine walking into the courthouse and applying for a license to kill flies on the church property. I think this is made up.

The verse is perfect for the picture. What a beautiful display of fall colors. I’m going to guess #2. Some people have way too much time on their hands to have made these laws. I hope you and your readers have a blessed Thanksgiving!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! These were kind of tough, and I’m hoping #4 is made up, really a license to kill a fly?? But I’m going with #1, only because if it’s a law for one state it should be for all of them I would think. But I know there’s some whack ohs out there!
