Lost & Found ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 72 Comments

Lost & Found; Isaiah 40:31

Lost & Found is this week’s Mystery Question. But first I want to let you know I got my edits in at 1:17 Monday morning! Thank you all who prayed for me. It got me through!! Of course, later this week I’ll get the manuscript back with “suggestions” from my editor, but hopefully they won’t be extensive!

Now for this week’s photo and Scripture verse. I wish I could take credit for the photo, but it’s one from Unsplash. And I love that verse with it!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Below are four scenarios. Three are actually true. One is false. Which one did I make up?
  1. It was February, and a couple in the middle of a divorce were walking along the bank of a river, quarreling. Unable to win his point, the frustrated man suddenly shoved the woman into the icy river, jumping in to push her under again and again! The only problem? He couldn’t swim and his wife could. She swam to safety while he sank…he died on February 14.
  2. Two men had spent the day on the river bank fishing and guzzling beer. As they trecked back to their truck with their meager catch, they had to cross a pasture with a long-horned bull in it. One man dared the other to slap the bull on his rump. When he refused, words ensued regarding his character and then a fight broke out, catching the attention of the bull. The men were so intent on their fight they failed to see the bull charging until he’d hooked one of them… on his rump.
  3. A young couple set out to prove that evil is a make-believe concept the human race invented. They set out on a bike ride to prove their new worldview. Sadly, after a year of biking, they were killed by ISIS militants.
  4. A helpful neighbor spent his last moments helping a friend weld an exhaust pipe  He arrived at the garage shed with an experimental welding kit: an LPG bottle, similar to a propane tank, in which he had mixed both components that make up oxy-acetylene welding gas: acetylene and oxygen. When combined, these two components burn hot enough to cut metal. They are separated for a reason. When the neighbor attacked a torch head straight onto the bottle and lit the welding tip…the explosion shattered windows blocks away.

And the correct answer is the favorite #2! I should’ve changed it up a bit. lol Congrats on all who guessed correctly (which were many lol)

Now for this week’s Mystery Question – Lost and FounLost & Found is this week's Mystery Question. As usual, three answers are true and one is made up. Can you guess which one? Leave your answers in the comments and I'll enter you in April's drawing for a $10 gift card! Click To Tweetd: As usual, three are true and I made up the fourth one.
  1. Someone left a lifesized stuffed Spider-Man on the London Metro.
  2. A passenger left a stuffed warthog on public transport.
  3. Two years after a woman lost the diamond in her engagement ring as she walked from her office to the parking lot a block away, sunlight flashed on something in the grass. Yep, the missing diamond.
  4. Twenty years after a fisherman lost his wallet he was fishing in the same lake. Would you believe he pulled the old wallet out of the water?
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for $10 gift card!

This week’s puzzle is kinda funny. Warthogs, the poor things, are kinda goofy looking. I don’t know why anybody would want a stuffed one. I’m going with number 2!

That verse is a perfect match to the photo. It’s one of my favorite verses, too.

I’m glad your editing is done. Hopefully, your editor’s suggestions will be useful and easy for you to make.

Hmm. My spidey sense thinks I’ve seen these lost and found items before; maybe from a well known suspense author. 🙂

Going with #3. Surely someone would have seen it by this time.

That verse has been a favorite for years. Nothing but a picture of an eagle fits with it. Glad you got your edits done.

I agree with Tim that this one seems familiar, especially the spider man on the Metro. I’m choosing #3. Someone I know has lost two different diamond rings. One was out in her front yard. The other may have been in her yard or her home. No amount of searching was ever successful in finding either one. I can’t imagine someone spotting a diamond in the grass after two years.

#3 seems impossible. A shining diamond no one spotted before? And what about summer when the grass gets cut?

Hi Patricia! This is my first time to enter, so I’m new! I’m going with #4, that’s a long time to be at the same place under water. I actually did lose my wedding band in mom-in-law’s yard and she found it 7 yrs later! It was all shiny and good as new. I absolutely loved your Deception book, you out did yourself! My favorite so far.

I’m going with #3 this week because I think the diamond would have been found long before two years went by. You never know though, right?

That’s one of my favorite verses, thanks for sharing it Patricia!

I’m getting pretty old and have seen/heard of so many crazy, unusual things happening, so I wouldn’t be too surprised at any of these, but I’m going with #3.
