Four Dumb Criminals ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 42 Comments

Four Funny Crimes; Ps 40:5

Four Dumb Criminals is this week’s Mystery Question. Sometimes I question if these crimes really happened, but when they show up in more than one place…

But first the photo and verse. I took this photo one afternoon as I returned from my mailbox. I couldn’t believe the perfect cross! And I’d recently read this verse in my daily reading and thought it went well with the photo!

And I’m happy to say that my book is wending its way to the next set of edits! This one was a struggle, mostly because I simply should have taken off the last eighteen months…or at least a year. But as usual, hindsight is 20-20. 🙂 I think my brain is back and clicking now…

Now for last week’s Mystery Question – Lost and Found. As usual, three are true and I made up the fourth one.
  1. Someone left a lifesized stuffed Spider-Man on the London Metro.
  2. A passenger left a stuffed warthog on public transport.
  3. Two years after a woman lost the diamond in her engagement ring as she walked from her office to the parking lot a block away, sunlight flashed on something in the grass. Yep, the missing diamond.
  4. Twenty years after a fisherman lost his wallet he was fishing in the same lake. Would you believe he pulled the old wallet out of the water?

And the answer is…#3. Congrats to all who guessed correctly!

And now for this week’s Mystery Question–Four Funny Crimes. As usual, three of these crimes really happened and I made one up. Can you guess which one?
  1. A couple returned home from church to find a man sitting at their table eating leftovers. Not only was he eating their food, but he’d used their shower and then put on two pairs of the owner’s pants and three shirts. And he had the owner’s truck keys in one of the pockets.
  2. In a state that didn’t have legalized marijuana, police arrested a man after he reported someone had stolen three of his cannabis plants.
  3. A son robbed his mom because he thought police could only charge him with burglary if he did it at night.
  4. A store owner caught a man trying to steal a watch. The man gave a sad tale and offered to buy the watch instead. It was close to Christmas, and feeling sorry for the man, the owner agreed. When he gave him the ticket, the man asked if he had something cheaper.

Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $10 gift card.

Although it’s probably unlikely you would use #3 again, I’ll go with that one. Number 4 is a hoot! This post is a bright spot each week.

Cool cross photo! Hm, I’m going with number 3 because someone would have to be AWFULLY ignorant to thing you can only be charged for burglary if it’s night!

Love the cross photo and verse. The heavens will give God glory! The photo reminds me of a time I visited a temple in Taiwan. There were thousand of idols surrounding me. It was a bit overwhelming and in my spirit and for my own peace of mind, I felt like I needed to take a stand for Christ. When my friend took my photo, I placed my arms by my side and formed them into a cross like in your photo. It was between me and God, but I felt like I had to do something to stand firm.

It was hard to choose today. I narrowed it down to #1 and #4. Going with #1, because he had some nerve coming in and eating the leftovers!

I got last weeks correct and another one recently. Maybe…I’m on a roll, but probably not. LOL

Like Delores I enjoy your blog very much!!! Thank you for bringing it to us each week! I’m going with #2. My logic is that anyone growing marijuana in a state where it’s illegal is surely aware of the value of a shut mouth- but maybe not! We bought a house well over twenty years ago with a tiny, but healthy marijuana “crop” growing outside the back patio. I suppose it wasn’t harvest time yet.

    Love the picture and verse.

I’m choosing #1. The other three seem to be idiots. This guy was simply brazen. It’s one thing to break in, steal some clothes, and make a getaway in someone else’s truck. But taking time for a shower and sitting down to a meal is really stretching his luck.

Cool photo, Pat. Certainly as the Psalm says, God’s wonders and plans are too many to be numbered.

I’m going with #1 for reasons similar to Edward’s. I find it hard to believe someone could be so calm after breaking into another’s house to be able to do all he did. Maybe if the house was way out in the boonies, but even then, I don’t see it.

By the way, I just finished Steven James’ “Broker of Lies”. Classic James, but with new protagonists for his new series. There’s lots of misdirection. Not as graphic as the Patrick Bowers series.

Oh, I guessed right two weeks in a row….how fun!! I’m so glad your book is on it’s way to the next edits. I’m sorry it’s been such a struggle for you. Praying you’ll be right as rain soon 🙂 I also love the accidental cross picture, so cool.

For this week, seems to be a bit harder! I’m going to go with #2, though Edward & Tim seem to always be the logical ones on these mystery questions. 😉 I’ll probably regret not agreeing with them…lol!

Sometimes logic works with these and sometimes not, Trixi. 🙂 Every week it gets harder and harder to come up with one as crazy as the true ones. lol. And I’m glad you liked my accidental cross! And I’m hoping I’m back on track now with the writing–thank you for your prayers!

Hi Patricia, I’m going with #3 again, although I wouldn’t be surprised of all these happening. People are so funny, that’s why I love to watch America’s Funniest Videos.
I love your big Cross in the sky photo! It’s like a reminder that God is watching over us and is with us always.
