Crazy Things People Do–Mystery Question

Crazy Things People Do; Psalm 40:8

Crazy Things People Do is this week’s Mystery Question. I kept coming back to this when I thought about what to post for my Mystery Question. We are all guilty of doing crazy things, and it’s nice to laugh at someone else’s mistakes. But first the photo and Scripture.

I’m really enjoying my flowers this year. This amaryllis is one that a friend gave me several Christmases ago and I now have three separate groupings from the one. 🙂 Psalm 40 is one of my favorite psalms, especially the first three verses. I love that gives me a firm place to stand.

God never lets us down. He helped me finish my book on time! I turned it in about an hour ago. And now the real fun begins.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question: The Trucker Saw What?  I could hardly believe some of these that truckers reported seeing. As usual, three are true and one is made up. Can you guess which one?
  1. One trucker reported seeing: “A lady trying to change her baby’s diaper while steering with her knees.”

  2. “Strangest thing I’ve seen was a goat riding in the passenger seat like a person — even had a seat belt on.”

  3.  The trucker reported seeing a lady with a cutting board on her lap, cutting up fruit and putting it into a bowl on the passenger seat. Yes, while driving. Making a fruit salad on the road.

  4. One trucker thought he’d seen it all, but one night he passed a convertible and the driver was changing clothes. Since the driver was slipping on a pair of jeans, the trucker assumed the car was on cruise control.

And the answer is…#4. Congrats to all who answered correctly! And I’d like to see that goat!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question: Crazy Things People Do?  I thought these would give everyone a chuckle. As usual, three are true and one is made up. Can you guess which one?
  1. One person reported a classmate insisted that Italian wasn’t a real language because she was Italian and she spoke English. Her history teacher barely contained herself until she left the room.

  2. A guy was shooting his new semi-automatic for the first time. After the first few rounds, there were no holes in the paper so he assumed the gun was malfunctioning. To check, he aimed it at the palm of his other hand, fired, and found his answer.

  3. A man was so proud of his new false teeth that he boasted they were better than his natural teeth and to prove it, he would pull his car down his driveway with his teeth. He moved the car…and visited the dentist the next day to get his teeth repaired.
  4. The boy bought a Coke that had prizes under the cap. His father watched as he twisted the cap off and looked at it. It read: “Sorry. Try again.” So the boy put the cap back on, took it off, and looked at it again.

Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a May drawing for a book from my library!

LOL Oh Gracious #1 Hmmm, I’m Italian and don’t speak the language. Now I wonder what my father was speaking all those years?

#2 That guy was apparently a very good shot, but with that mindset about the gun. Oh please tell me someone took it away from him!

#3 I burst out laughing with this one!

#4 We’ll bless his heart, because I think I would have done the same thing as a kid.

I’m choosing #4 in solidarity with the disappointed kid!

Congratulations on getting the book turned in. Whew! Love the picture with the bright red amaryllis! And yes, Psalm 40 does give us a firm place in which to stand.

I love phlower photos, and you took a good one! Good match with the Psalm. I’m glad you got your book completed and submitted in time. Judging from the timestamp on your e-mail, you are probably in need of many Zzzzzs about now.

People are so crazy (and that’s being polite), all of those could be true. At least #2 used his palm as a test, it could have been worse. Pride goes before the fall comes to mind. I think you made up #3. Unless they were implants, wouldn’t they just pull out of his mouth?

Again, people’s logic baffles me, lol! Why would anyone be dumb enough to believe any of what you posted today?? 😀 I would HOPE I’d be smarter than that.

Anyway, I’m going to go with #2 this week. Again, WHY would the man think he wouldn’t get injured because he thought the gun wasn’t working? That’s just plain idiotic to point a gun at any of yours (or other people’s) body parts to test that theory….yikes!

Love your flower picture Patricia! I’m enjoying seeing all the early spring flowers in bloom around here too. My azalea bush is getting quite a few bright pink ones popping up & pretty soon I’ll see the fushia’s in bloom. Then come the hummingbirds who love to sip of its nectar….my favorite part! I love seeing them flit around & chase each other. 🙂

I give up. All the statements make sense to me. I think it is the man with the dentures. After getting his teeth fixed, he should have gone to a psychologist.

All are headshakers! What’s wrong with people? I’m going with 3. Sadly, I know an adult who had something similar happen, purely accidental but shot his own leg. I have students that would do #4. Such literal thinkers. Lol.

So glad you got your book turned in. I’m looking forward to it.

Those are beautiful flowers. Based on the way they look, I thought they were a variety of lilies, but I was wrong. The verse is very fitting.

The first three situations are funny but sad. I burst out laughing at the fourth. I guess the kid had been told “if at first you don’t succeed, try again.” Concerning the idiot with the semi-automatic, he obviously never heard that he should never point his gun at something he didn’t want to shoot. That situation could have ended terribly if he had pointed the gun at his eye to see if there was anything in the barrel and then pulled the trigger. I don’t think the English-speaking girl was truly Italian. She probably was told that her ancestors came from Italy, but that doesn’t make her Italian. I won’t mention that it reminds me of someone whose name appears in the newspaper on occasion. Now, with all of that, I think #3 was made up. I’m still trying to picture how someone would pull his car with his teeth: chomp down on the front of it with his teeth, use a rope or chain securely fastened underneath, or some other way that eludes my imagination. There are too many logistical aspects to this that don’t compute. Further, I think he would probably be visiting his dentist for a new set of teeth rather than just repairs.

As always, your logic is wonderful, Edward. I’m glad you liked my flowers. I’ve really enjoyed my flowers this year–they are the kind you don’t really have to do much to. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #3.

#1. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard at least one of these before… but they are all so crazy, it’s just unbelievable what people will try.
I can actually see #4 happening.
    Have a great day!

I can’t imagine trying #3! Of course people aren’t always smart or you wouldn’t have these to share. So, yep, I’ll go with #3.
