This past week I got to spend time with my nephew, Brad, who has been quite ill these past few years. He was much better and we were able to go to one of his favorite restaurants in his hometown– A Little Pizza of Heaven.
He’s a great writer and I’ve been trying for years to get him to write a book. I got him set up on his iPad with a keyboard, so hopefully, he’ll start working on that novel I know he has in him. 🙂 (You hear that Brad?)
Now onto last week’s mystery question that involves something else at Auburn Mansion. What was the clear jar in the photo below used for?
And the answer is…a leech jar! Congrats to Paula Schreckhise for getting the right answer.

I’ll guess #1

Hi Tori! We’ll see next week if it’s #1. Thanks for stopping by.
I’ll go with #1.
Author
Another one for #1…;-) Thanks for stopping by Monique!
I believe either #1 or #2 are made up and for this week, I’ll go with #1 — very picturesque.
Author
Delores, I think I see a trend…thanks for stopping by.
I’ll guess #4.

We’ll see, Linda. Thanks for stopping by.
I think it is #1.

Another one for #1, Lisa. Thanks for stopping by.
Your mystery segment is so much fun! I’m going with #2 this week. I can see the first happening, and three and four are downright: scary.
Author
I’m so glad you think so, Susan, S! Thanks for stopping by.
I have to go with #1 also. All are believable, but #1 just seems right.
Author
Tim, that’s a good reason. 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
I am going with #3.

Hi Gloria! We’ll see next week if it’s #3. 🙂
I truly hope #3 is made up. If someone truly did that, I’m with Bugs Bunny: “What a maroon!” After working in banking for many years, I can believe the first one. A lot of bank robbers are not the most brilliant people on the planet. And I can believe the next one because I have gone up the down escalator (or down the up escalator), but was fortunate that I never fell while doing it. And anything about what people snort doesn’t surprise me.

Love your reasoning, Edward! Thanks for stopping by.
I’m going to guess #2.

Colleen, I love it that the answers are all over the board…except for #3…hmmm. We’ll see next week. Thanks for stopping by.
I’ll say #3.

Just when I said there were no guesses for #3, you come through, Jackie! Thanks for stopping by.
I believe it’s #1.

That’s another one for #1, Tracy. It looks to be a race between 1 and 4…we’ll see next week if it’s either. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
I am going with #4 because it just seems too unbelieveable
Author
Shelia, another vote for #4…and it does seem awfully unbelievable, but…we’ll see next week. Thanks for commenting.
#4 — I hope 9 people aren’t willing to snort a strange white powder!
Author
My thoughts exactly, MS Barb. But there are a lot of crazy people running around. We’ll see next week if those nine were some of them. Thanks for commenting.
#4 can’t be true
Author
It is hard to believe, Joni. We’ll see next Tuesday! Thanks for joining the conversation.

Another one in the #1 column. We’ll see, Suzanne. Thanks for stopping by.
I’m so glad you were able to spend time with your Nephew and that he was well enough! Family time is precious 🙂
Congrats to Paula on guessing what the glass jar was. I KNEW she was onto something 😉 I
Oh please tell me #3 is false?? Why would anyone put a flame to a plastic jug filled with gas?? There are some incredibly dumb people in the world. I’m going to go with #2 this week since I would think someone would witness what happened. Most escalators I’ve seen are in public places. Just My logic anyway 😉
You should have more “what is this” posts, they’re always fun to guess what the object is. You kept me in suspense (pun intended) all week…lol!
Author
Trixi, I do believe I’ll do more of the What is this? posts! Any other suggestions would be wonderful!
These things are so hard to believe but you never know. I will guess #2 as I would think in a public place there would be witnesses.
I’m going with my first thought… #1. But they are all strange and slightly unbelievable!
Author
Yes, they are, Rosalyn. Thanks for stopping by. And that’s another one for #1. 🙂
I’m guessing #4.
We’ll see, Caryl. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll guess #2.
