Back to Stupid Criminals 4 is this week’s Mystery Question…I’m still shaking my head over last week’s criminals. And this week’s isn’t any different.
In case you haven’t gotten my newsletter, I am almost finished with the book due next Tuesday! And if you’re not subscribed to my newsletter, you may want to. I have a puzzle each month and a Wordle, and usually a recipe along with a free book from one of my writer friends. There’s a place to sign up just below the “Sign up for my Blog”.
But first, the photo and verse. I chose the verse because we need to be more thankful for God. And I chose another cloud photo so Barbara Diggs can find more animals in the clouds. 😉
I figured out why so many people move to Florida after spending days of cloudy weather in Tennessee. It’s the sunshine! Florida’s not called the Sunshine State for nothing…
Now onto this week’s Back to Stupid Criminals 4 Mystery Question. Three of the following crime stories are true. One is false. Which one did I make up?
- Thieves stole $98,000 worth of ramen noodles from a trailer park which brings a couple of questions to mind. Why was there $98,000 dollars worth of the noodles in a trailer park? And just plain, why?
- A man caught his cousin stealing a bottle of Lysol and some soap, but when he saw that he’d stolen his cheese grater, he called the cops.
- It was Black Friday and only one parking spot was available. Just before the driver who had arrived first pulled into the spot, a small BMW sportscar whipped into the space. Instead of exchanging angry words, the driver who had his spot stolen waited until the other driver went into the mall. Then he hooked a chain to the bumper of the BMW and attached it to a concrete piling. Unfortunately, video was grainy and could not identify him.
- While an elderly man waited patiently in line for a free cheese sample in a grocery store, another man swaggered up and snatched his sample. When he did it a second time at another kiosk, the elderly man had had enough. Instead of brushing it off, angry words were exchanged and soon fists were thrown and the cops were called.
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a September drawing for …something. August’s winner is…Patricia Brooks!
Now on to last week’s Mystery Question. Four stories, three are true, one is false. Can you spot the false one?
- A burglar was caught after he broke into a house and became fascinated with the homeowner’s robotic vacuum cleaner that was cleaning the floors. The homeowners were alerted when he yelled at it, saying it had missed a spot.
- A man who was impersonating a police officer flashed his amber and blue lights, activated his siren and pulled over a car. Unfortunately for him, it was an off-duty policeman. He won’t be pulling over anyone else in the near future.
- Police are searching for the girl who licked a half-gallon of ice cream and then posted the video to Facebook. They’ve traced it to a store in Texas and say it’s only a matter of time before the teenager is arrested.
- A man, high on bath salts, broke into a home and…put up Christmas decorations. Once he finished, he turned on the TV and went to sleep, only to be awakened by the police.
And the answer is…#1.
Here’s this week’s blast from the past book. You know I had to write an Elvis book if I set a series in Memphis…right? Here it is:
It’s Elvis Week in Memphis, and homicide Detective Rachel Sloan isn’t sure her day could get any stranger when aging Elvis impersonator Vic Vegas asks to see her. But when he produces a photo of her murdered mother with four Elvis impersonators–one of whom had also been murdered soon after the photo was taken–she’s forced to reevaluate. Is there some connection between the two unsolved cases? And could the recent break-in at Vic’s home be tied to his obsession with finding his friend’s killer?
When yet another person in the photo is murdered, Rachel suddenly has her hands full investigating three cases. Lieutenant Boone Callahan offers his help, but their checkered romantic past threatens to get in the way. Can they solve the cases before the murderer makes Rachel victim number four?

Here’s today’s song. This is one of my all-time favorite songs. Our church did this at Easter one year:

Stupid criminals: I think the one made up is #4

They are stupid, aren’t they, Crystal! We’ll see…

We’ll see, BN100…
Good luck wrapping up the book you’re working on! I’m going with #1 this week because it seems $98,000 worth of ramen would be TOO much, like it’d fill a warehouse!
Author
Just wrapped it up, Priscilla…now I have to write a timeline and character description. lol We’ll see next week if that’s too much ramen noodles…
I’m going with #1.
Author
Hi, Diana…so you think that’s too many noodles, too? 🙂 We’ll see…
Pat, between you and Barbara, I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now. And guess what? I really don’t know clouds at all. But, the verse you chose surely fits.
Stupid criminals…
#1. Trailer park or parked trailer. Hmm.
#2. Don’t you dare touch my cheese grater!!!
#3. Wonder what happened to the BMW?
#4. What is it with cheese?
I sure hope the BMW owner saw the chain before he drove off. Actually, I think this is the one, #3, you made up.

I know, Tim–Barbara has me looking at clouds differently now. 🙂 We’ll see next week if it’s #3…
#2

Hi, Caryl…we’ll see…
You are right these are as bad as last week. I am going with number 1. I would like to know how that much ramen noodles could be found in a trailer park.
Author
I can’t get over how dumb criminals are, Sharon! We’ll see next week if it’s #1…
Pat, you are correct, I started my cloud hunt right away. I can’t help myself! Lol
A big duck, a blow fish, butterfly, a flying goose, small whale swimming toward us, baby chicks, goldfish, turtle, one half of a cloud could be a dinosaur, but put all together, it could be a lobster. There was a lot of activity going on today!!
I got last week’s correct! F I N A L L Y!
I’m with Priscilla, $98,000 worth of Ramen noodles in a warehouse. Hmmmmm. Where and why? #1
Yay on the almost finished with the book!!!!
Author
Yes, Yay! Thanks for the prayers. You definitely have me looking at clouds differently, Barbara! We’ll see next week if it’s #1…
I’m guessing #3. How did the owner not see the chain? Or was the chain on the front and they were in a hurry? And who carries a chain in their vehicle anyway?
Author
Great observations, Gail…we’ll see…
#3?
Author
Three is proving to be popular, Barbie D!
I am guessing #2.
Author
Hi Gloria! We’ll see…
I am guessing #2. Who would call the police over a cheese grater. Although, #1 also seems over the top.
Author
Good question, Carolyn…we’ll see…

We’ll see, Mary!
Nice picture and verse. The song is one of the few in that genre that I really enjoyed back in the day.
The first one sounds familiar. I must admit that the little imp on my shoulder was cheering for the driver with the chain in the third one. I think it was made up. People are typically not that prepared.
Author
I’m glad you enjoyed the post, Edward. We’ll see if your little imp was right next week!
#1 is just too funny to be true! and #3 sounds like something from fried green tomatoes movie!
Author
I’m glad you enjoyed them, Shelia! We’ll see…
I think you made up #3 this week. Most of us have felt like doing that exact same thing!
Author
We’ll see, Delores…
# 2 for me. I can’t believe cops would come over a cheese grater. Would probably tell them to come to precinct to file report.
Author
Good logic, No Regrets…we’ll see if the cops were as dumb as the criminals. lol
I say it’s number 4. Reason…..I can see Jeff as the old man you are describing. LOL
Author
Lol Carole…maybe I patterned the answer after him…we’ll see…
