.Back to Stupid Criminals 2 is this week’s Mystery Question. I can’t believe people would actually do these things. This is another one from my archives. I hope you enjoy!

But first the photo and verse. A friend in Florida took the photo of this beautiful rainbow, and I wanted to share it with you. The verse is what a rainbow represents to me. I hope you enjoy!

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question. Three of the scenarios are true, and one is made up. Can you tell which one:
  1. A man’s garage door malfunctioned, so he installed a camera until he could get it repaired. His neighbor came over and borrowed a paintbrush, saw the camera and took it, too. But he forgot to turn it off, and police quickly traced it through its live streaming.
  2. The crooks made their way to the open-air tank at a zoo and quickly slipped a baby shark into a stroller and then strolled out. Once again, a camera foiled them by catching them as they put the shark into the back of a pickup along with the tag number.
  3. I’m not exactly sure which crime this one covers, but video captured a man taking a bubble bath in the sink at a fast food restaurant.
  4. This guy should get Father of the Year for covering up the $500 theft of his son’s sales from selling Boy Scout popcorn with a fake armed robbery outside his garage. Again a camera foiled him when the alleged robbery failed to show up on security footage.

And the answer is…the popular #4! Congrats to all who guessed correctly.

Now to this week’s Mystery Question ~ Back to Stupid Criminals 2. Four scenarios where people lied to the police. Three are true, one is made up. Which one? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!
  1. Police responded to a “robbery in progress” at a local car wash. The distraught victim claimed two men had robbed him at knifepoint of his wedding band. Surveillance cameras recorded a different picture. That of the man pulling into the car wash and then making a call that corresponded to the 911 call. Turns out he’d lost his wedding ring and didn’t want to tell his wife.
  2. A Dollar General store employee claims she was robbed by an armed robber as she carried the money to the bank for a night deposit. The police questioned why she was making a deposit at two in the morning when the store closed at ten. Clues led them to the local casino where video showed her losing the exact amount she was supposed to deposit.
  3. A postal employee reported being robbed of $40  by a gun-wielding robber. Unfortunately for the postal employee, where he claimed it happened was right in front of a school that had multiple surveillance cameras set up.
  4. A teacher was running late to work so he called the police and claimed two men posing as police officers pulled him over. Several hours were spent going door-to-door investigating the crime before the teacher finally broke down and admitted it was a hoax. The school plans disciplinary actions once the police are finished with him.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in an August drawing for…something. 🙂

Here’s the week’s featured book that I wrote almost ten years ago! I can’t believe how fast time flies. 😀 This is my Memphis Series–I grew up there. It was a great place to grow up, not so much now. Back then I rode my bicycle all over East Memphis, walked two miles to school (In two feet of snow with subzero temps–at least that’s what I tell the kids…). You can get the digital copy in KU for free!

It’s been eighteen years since TV crime reporter Andi Hollister’s sister was murdered. The confessed killer is behind bars, and the execution date is looming. A letter surfaces stating that the condemned killer didn’t actually do it. Detective Will Kincaide of the Memphis Cold Case Unit will stop at nothing to help Andi get to the bottom of it. After all, this case is personal: the person who confessed to the crime is Will’s cousin. They have less than a week to find the real killer before the wrong person is executed. But much can be accomplished in that week–including uncovering police corruption, running for your life, and falling in love.

With the perfect mixture of intrigue and nail-biting suspense, award-winning author Patricia Bradley invites her readers to crack the case–if they can–alongside the best Memphis has to offer.

One last thing: This great sale just came in…You can get an audio version  Counter Attack if you enjoy listening to books! It’s 60% off, and you can get two more books free! Click here for this great deal!

He can’t help wanting to protect the woman he never stopped loving. But as the danger mounts and the killer closes in. Now for the song for today: I love songs sung in Hebrew and English. I hope you enjoy.
