Back to Stupid Criminals 13 is this week’s Mystery Question. These have been a lot of fun…But I have to admit I made a huge mistake last week by not checking out the statements I used! First the photo and verse…
I took the photo about this time last year when I went to East Tennessee to see the fall colors for my first time ever. While it wasn’t the best year for color because of the dry weather earlier in the summer, there were a few pockets of colorful trees. I loved the way the light shown through the tunnel on this one. And I’ve known that verse since I was a kid in Bible school. It’s one that I sing in my head often.
Now for the answer to last week’s Mystery Question. Below are four statements. Three are true. Which one did I make up? You can google the answers, but try to guess first.
- Donkeys kill more people annually than planes.
- If Barbie were life-size, she’d stand 7 feet, 9 inches tall and her measurements would be 42-22-34.
- Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.
- Walt Disney was afraid of mice.
Like I said earlier, I goofed last week, and it turns out that while I made up #1, numbers 2 and 4 are not true either. Number 3 is the only one that is true…guess that’ll teach me to not check out my facts!
Now onto this week’s Mystery Question: Three of these stupid crook stories are true. I made up one, and believe me, it was hard. See if you can guess which one.
- Is it the man who tried to rob a woman only to discover when he was rolling on the ground in pain that she was a taekwondo black belt.
- Or a woman wanted for second-degree murder was unhappy with the photo officials used on social media and she posted under the photo “That picture ugly.” The PD Department offered to let her come in and take a new picture. And she did.
- Then there was the brainless bank robber who was arrested the day after she posted a YouTube video of her bragging about her crime.
- And then there was the purse snatcher who knocked himself unconscious when he sprinted into a glass window that he thought was an open doorway…
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in this month’s drawing for… something.
October’s winner is…Becky!
Now for a blast from the past! This week it’s in the not-too-distant past…On the Edge of Trust! This is a book I had wanted to write for years. In my very first book, Shadows of the Past, I featured Scott Sinclair as the brother of the hero, Nick Sinclair. Scott had a bad drinking problem and a lot of anger, and I had always wanted to redeem him. I got the chance in On The Edge Of Trust! It’s ten years after Shadows of the Past ends…
When decorated FBI undercover agent Scott Sinclair suffers a gunshot wound in his right arm, the injury threatens his future career in the field. He is determined to regain his former job by training himself to use his left hand, and failure is not an option–especially when he’s unofficially pulled into an investigation.
Tori Alexander is a passionate crime reporter and podcaster who has dedicated her life to seeking justice. Her relentless pursuit of the truth has freed two men from prison who were falsely convicted, and when her nephew is accused of murder, nothing can stop her from getting involved and clearing his name.
Sparks ignite when Tori reconnects with Scott on the case, but she’s doubtful if she can extend grace and trust. As the investigation intensifies, they find threats targeted at themselves. They’ll have to combine their skills and rely on their growing relationship to outsmart the killer.
Here’s today’s song. I love to hear the Oak Ridge Boys sing this. I saw one of their last shows and so miss them!
Thanks for reading my blog and my books!
