Song and Photo June 12 Friday Post

Song and Photo June 12 Post is today’s post. Good morning! 😉

I have yet to come up with a good name for the Friday post since I don’t have time to read and post a review just now. Sooo, if you have an idea for a title for this post, put it in the comments…if I use your suggestion, you’ll win a copy of whichever of my books you’d like. 🙂

Not only did I not post a winner on my Mystery Question blog for the month of May, I didn’t post one for the Friday blog…so here goes: And the winner of a booklight is…Caryl Kane!

Now for today’s photo and verse. Again, one from my son-in-law while he’s fishing on Lake Okeechobee in Florida. The verse has special meaning to me because I’ve found it to be so true.
Here’s Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

And here’s the song for today. I hope you enjoy! It’s one of my favorites of Josh Groban. I chose this one because it has the lyrics posted, even if instrumental is misspelled…(almost drove me crazy lol)

    Amazing photo! Wow!!
I’m currently reading Gingham Mountain by Mary Connelly. Her Petticoats and Cowboys series is so fun. This subject is about orphans and those that rescue them.

I love that photo. Your son-in-law has a good eye for composition. That verse surely fits since it also speaks of the calmness we have because Jesus has taken all our troubles on Himself.

I suggest you stick with Reader Friday. It still fits even if you don’t have a review to post. I enjoy seeing what others are reading. It gives me suggestions for books I might have otherwise missed.

I’m currently reading “Anchoring You” by Robin Patchen. It’s part of her Wright Heroes of Maine series, and it is a thriller. The first line is the calm before the storm: “Kenzie Wright stood at the helm and scanned the horizon, nothing but sea and sky in every direction.” That is about to quickly change!

I do enjoy Robin’s books…and I have this one on Kindle. I think I’ll start it tonight! And I agree that Jeff has a good eye for composition. I forgot to mention I have to have a unique title each week, like I had with the book I was reading. I’ll try to go back to that again, even though it takes longer to compose. 🙂

Jeff really does have a good eye on the photos. SOooo peaceful.

I’m with Tim on keeping Reader Friday. I also enjoy seeing what others are reading.

I was thinking now which Dumb Criminal do I need to select? Then I remembered, there are none for today. Boy, do I have my days mixed up! 🙁

“Words failed Dr. Ivy Picot, so she sketched her father with gray-flecked hair, packing to go to war.” This is the first line from Mists over the Channel Islands by Sarah Sundin.

Tell me about not knowing which day it is, Barbara. I’ve thought all week that every day was Saturday. lol I may go back to reviewing a book if I can stay ahead of my deadline…which isn’t easy. lol

    Redemption and Restoration

That’s all I can come up with as I am currently brain dead! LOL Currently reading The Sky Beneath Her by Mary Ellen Taylor. It was a freebie from Amazon. I’m still trying to figure out the reason for the title since it’s all about diving in the ocean. :-~

Beautiful photo and song; uplifting verse!
I agree with Tim and Barbara; keeping the title Reader Friday works for me. However, as a suggestion for a new title, Uplifting (or Encouraging) Friday.
I just finished reading Anchoring You by Robin Patchen. Excellent book and series!
    Enjoy your weekend!

I always looked at Friday as preparation Friday. Getting ready for the weekend. But I do like Reader Friday. I agree with Tim I like to see what others are reading it sometimes introduces me to a new author. Have a blessed weekend.

Your picture this week is so relaxing to look at and the water calming! Beautiful colors in the sky as well.
The only thing different I could come up with for a title would be “Reader’s” Friday for when you don’t review a book, or “Reader’s” Friday Post. I do like your title though, and I really enjoy this blog. I have at least two pages of books that I want to read from readers suggestions, and know I’ll never get to read them all. I’ll be adding another one today to my list, the “Anchoring You.” Thank you Tim! I love a good suspense!
Although I’m reading now The Voice We Find by Nicole Deese. “I duck dive the nose of my surfboard under the next breaking wave using the same technique my dad endeavored to teach me back when I was a know-it-all punk who believed time was something to exhaust, not cherish. “ Her books are always about redemption and just a good story.
Have a great weekend and hope all dodge the potential storms tonight!

Thanks, Dottie! I loved this photo as well. I’ll probably just go back to reviewing a book each week and the title of the book will be the blog title. 🙂 The Voice We Find sounds intriguing!

I started Anchoring You last night…

If you continue your Friday blog posts in the same vein as the recent ones, I think you could call it “Friday Encouragement.”

I love that picture. It is so peaceful and relaxing. I wouldn’t want to have to deal with a boat and a bunch of fishing paraphernalia to view it though. Just give me a nice shady spot to sit back and enjoy.

I’m not sure why instramental bothers you. I loved the sounds of the bagpipes at the beginning and then at 3:!5 when those other instraments and background singers joined in, it really sounded great. 🙂

I love to find a quiet place just to enjoy God’s creation, too.

Somehow, I didn’t check out the “Instramental” until just now. I really liked the instrumental part as much as the singing. Coincidentally, the other day I watched a DVD I have of a Celtic Woman performance which included that song. It was very well done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfwlj0gba_k

I loved the music, Edward…it was the way Instrumental was spelled on the screen…you probably listened to the song without reading the captions. 🙂 I like your suggestion about the title, but I’ll probably go back to reviewing books on Friday as long as I have time to read one. 😉

      1. Edward Arrington

Oh, but I did read the captions. Did you notice I said “instramental” and “instraments.” That was intentionally done because of their misspelling. I was picking at you about the misspelling. 🙂 I am fully aware that the spelling is “instrumental.”

As far as the title, I just noticed that I apparently was thinking along the same lines as Mary G. I didn’t look at the other suggestions last night before I responded.

Evidently I need to wear my glasses when I read the comments, Edward. I read it wrong. lol I’ll probably go back to doing reviews when I have time…
