Great picture and verse. My dad served in World War II. I remember as a child hearing him say he did his duty and hoped his sons never had to serve. His nerves were shot and he would never talk about it. He’s been in Heaven 45 years now. I thank God for him and all the others who have fought to gain or to protect our freedom.

Yes, Edward, I thank God for their service, too. My dad was in the Merchant Marines and they were shot at quite often. That was the Great Generation!

I have veterans in my family. My Dad was in China, Burma , India An uncle, and Father in Law were WWII. Mother’s cousin was one of the Four Chaplains that went down on the Dorchester. Hubby was in the Navy in the Vietnam era. We got as far as Guam. Our #1 son was in the Army in Bosnia and Germany. My brother in Law was also in the service.
