First I want to wish everyone a very Happy 2019! And I want to thank you for supporting me and buying my books.
As I thought about the coming year, I looked back over my Jesus Calling journal. Since October 9, 2009, I’ve read the devotional in Jesus Calling every day and made notes in the journal. In 2010 my entry was: I pray that this is the year Your plans for me include publishing Shadows. But if not, then I am certain you have something better in store for me.
If Shadows of the Past had been published in 2010, it would have been a disaster. You see, God knew I had a few things to learn about writing.
My prayer for 2011 and 2012 was the same. My Jesus Calling Journal is actually a journal of my writing journey. I learned in those two years that publication of my books was in God’s hands and His timing. Which turned out to be in 2012.
So if you’re struggling to get published, rest in Him. Learn the craft and wait for His timing. I would have been so embarrassed if my first book had been published in 2010. It was full of telling and passive verbs.
As I look forward to 2019, I’ve laid my desires out to the Lord. One of them is that a movie will be made of one of my books. Only God can fulfill that dream. And only if it’s in His plan for me. And I’m good with that.
So I hope as you face 2019, you will lay your desires out to Him. Pray over them, then do as He directs. One of my favorite scripture verses is “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps. 37:4) But don’t forget verse seven: “Wait patiently for the Lord to act…”
Thanks for reading my blog…I will be back around the first of February with a new Mystery Question, but until then I will be diligently working on the first Natchez book that is due February 1. I still have 30,000 words to write and then edit the book, all in 30 days.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Priscilla! I am going to try and post a few more Israel photos.
Okay, you know me, I’m gonna guess you meant Since Oct in 2010, not 1019? 🙂 Just as your book publishing has been in God’s timing, I know that our meeting was His timing too, and I am thankful for that every day! Happy writing!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jan! That’s what happens when you write a post at 10 pm on New Year’s Eve. lol And yes, our meeting was in His time and I’m thankful He brought us together!
Good advice and I’m thankful that it was through writing conferences that I met you. God does surprises with good things in all areas and has the perfect time table in his hands

Thanks, Edward, and Happy New Year to you!
Love to hear authors that place their GIFTSET in God’s Hands. There is no safer place for them to be! It is such a blessing to learn that God’s TIMING is just as important as His WILL.

Absolutely, Lisa! Thanks for following my blog.
Waiting is the toughest part of the writing/publishing journey, but I wouldn’t have it any other way than to be in the middle of God’s perfect timing.

Absolutely, Loretta!
Pat, I had to laugh when I saw my own error, talking about your error. God has such a wonderful sense of humor that He helps me see the logs in my own eyes!!! And of course, there’s the famous saying, “Grate mines think a like!” 🙂

I had to go back and find your error. lol. 🙂 That’s why I don’t proof my own writing…or anyone elses.
Loved reading this encouraging post that gives credit to our Father for your continued success. Best wishes to you in the New Year, Pat, for health, success and peace.

Thank you, Ellen. Meeting you was one of those God-things, too! Would love to get together when I finish the book! Red Robin, maybe. 🙂
Thank you so much for your writing! I have been addicted since I read the first Logan Point book last month. While I use to read a lot of James Patterson, having clean, Christian mystery books has been so much more uplifting. Keep up the great work!

Thank you, LaNae! I’m so glad you are enjoying my books!!
Praying for your writing to be accomplished quickly and well. A movie of your books sounds amazing!! It would be wonderful if the Lord has that in His plans.

Absolutely, Diane! And thank you for the prayers. I did outline the ending today, so that is progress!!
It always helps to know where you’re headed! 😉

The book I’m working on is the first book in the Natchez Park Ranger series. The last cold case novel will come out April 5… 🙂 And I always hate to leave my characters! One day I plan to write another Logan Point book, maybe tell Scott’s story and Wade Hatchers…
That’s awesome, although I’m sad to see the series coming to an end :(.
That would be so cool! Wow, your third series is in the making then? That is awesome!! ❤️
Yes, ma’am…see my facebook post today. 🙂
