Nancy Mehl’s Night Fall–What I’m Reading

Isaiah 43:2

Nancy Mehl’s Night Fall is what I’m reading this week. This is a book you definitely don’t want to put down! This book will grab you by the throat and not let go until the very end.

But first, the photo and scripture. I wanted to follow up with Tuesday’s meme with more from Isaiah 43. The first three verses in Isaiah 43 have been my go-to verses for years now. They bring such comfort.

Now onto Nancy Mehl’s Night Fall:

Nancy Mehl's Night FallAlexandra “Alex” Donovan is finally free of her troubled upbringing. Now she’s able to live out her childhood dream of working for the FBI. She’s a member of the FBI’s elite Behavioral Analysis Unit.  Authorities in Kansas and Missouri contact them about bodies found on freight trains traveling across the country–all killed in the same way.

Alex never expected to be forced to confront her past in this new job, but she immediately recognizes the graffiti messages the killer is leaving on the train cars. When the BAU sends her to gather information about the messages from her aunt in Wichita, Kansas, Alex is haunted by the struggles she thought she’d left behind forever.

In a race against time to solve the case while battling her own weaknesses, Alex must face how far she’ll go–and what she’s willing to risk–to put a stop to the Train Killer.

My Take:

Nancy Mehl has created a fast-past suspense story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The Train Man sees it as his duty to kill one-third of the world’s population, and he has just the virus to do it. Alex Donovan and Logan Hart must stop him before he unleashes the virus.

Mehl provided an interesting peek behind the scenes of the Behavior Analysis Unit. I loved seeing how they created a profile for the Train Man. Ms. Mehl did a great job with Alex’s OCD and PTSD issues. This is Christian fiction and I love the way Alex starts to see who God really is. There is a hint of a romance that I believe will grow with the series.

I loved the twist at the end with the Train Man. It’s a must-read for suspense fans.

First, thank you for the gift card, Pat. And thank you for your pick of photo and verse. Very appropriate for rough water literally and figuratively.

I just finished Tom’s “Network of Deceit” which you reviewed the other week. It was delightful, and thanks for introducing me to Tom’s work!

I’ve already purchased “Nightfall” so, please don’t enter me for this book. It’s next in my queue to read. I really enjoyed her Kaely Quinn series.

I thought the photo went very well with the scripture, Tim. 🙂 And I’m so glad you enjoyed Tom’s book. I have the first one on my TBR table and as soon as I finish judging a couple of contests, I will read it and review it! Always good to ‘see’ you here!

Night Fall was certainly suspense filled even though you knew who the culprit was! I am a fan of Nancy and especially Kaely Quinn. Looking forward to the next one Dead Fall. I already own this one, so don’t enter me.

Pat, did you have to go out in the water to take that picture? I like it. The verse goes well with it.

I am picking up Nancy’s book at the public library today and look forward to reading it. Good review!

Oh, Edward, this is one I didn’t take. There’s supposed to be a caption at the bottom crediting Tim Marshall and Unsplash with it. 🙂 But I would have loved to have taken it!
      You’ll really enjoy Night Fall!

I enjoyed Nancy’s last series (Kaely Quinn) and found Kaely’s character very interesting and her unique way of solving a crime. Definitely different for sure, but I LOVED it!

I’m looking forward to this new book series, though I’ll never get through my TBR pile the way I keep adding more to it, lol! Seems like it’s never ending….which is a good thing in my book 🙂

Thanks for the chance to win “Night Fall” Patricia!

Sometimes I think my TBR pile will drown me, Trixi! lol. I have so many good books on it, but I’m whittling it down one book at a time. I keep telling myself I will not buy one more book until I get some read…then a book like Night Fall comes along. lol Thanks so much for stopping by!
