Lynn Blackburn’s Unknown Threat

Ps 8:1-2

Lynn Blackburn’s Unknown Threat is a fantastic read. I could not put the book down, and I don’t think you’ll be able to either!

First the photo and verse. There is an interesting story with it. Back in 2017, I went on a cruise with the agency that represents me. One of the places we toured was the Botanical Park in George Town. We took a taxi to the park and spent an enjoyable two hours walking and viewing all the beautiful flowers. When we finished, we caught a bus and it took the long way around the island. The bus driver decided to give us a tour and stopped at several places and explained the historical significance of the stop. I thought it was really neat that he gave us opportunities to take photos and this is one of them.

Now, Lynn Blackburn’s Unknown Threat. Here’s the cover and back copy:

Unknown ThreatUS Secret Service Special Agent Luke Powell is lucky to be alive. Three of his fellow agents have died in unusual circumstances in the past ten weeks. Luke is devastated by the loss of his friends and colleagues, and his inability to locate the killer feels like a personal failure. He’s an expert at shielding others, but now the protectors are in need of protection.

FBI Special Agent Faith Malone is driven to succeed and confident in her ability to solve every case she’s assigned. She’s put in charge of the investigation, and with Luke’s life in danger, the stakes have never been higher. But it’s hard to know how to fight back when you don’t know who the enemy is.

Luke and Faith work together to bring a killer to justice and prevent any more names from joining their fallen brothers and sisters on the Secret Service Wall of Honor.

Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn pulls out all the stops in this brand-new romantic suspense series that will have you holding your breath one minute and swooning the next.

My take on Lynn H. Blackburn’s Unknown Threat:

Lynn H. Blackburn knows how to keep a reader turning pages. And she knows how to create characters that feel like family. I especially fell in love with Luke Powell. He has personal stakes–it’s his friends and colleagues who are being killed. And it all started with his mentor, Thad.

The FBI agent in charge of Thad’s murder case let her bias interfere with finding his killer. This puts high stakes on Faith to fix her failure and solve the new murders. She.Cannot.Fail. Or make mistakes. That’s her mantra, but she isn’t God and solving this case helps her to come to terms with it being okay to sometimes make mistakes.

The romance is sweet, but doesn’t get in the way of the action. This is book one and any of the characters in the book will be great protagonists for the next book. This is a book that fans of Lynette Eason will enjoy!

What good timing, Pat. I just finished Lynn’s book. It was so good, I didn’t want it to end. The sparks and sparing between Faith and Luke were fun to watch. I agree, all the team characters need to have their own stories told.

Mistakes are one of main ways we learn. We can’t be afraid to make them. Yes, there are definitely degrees of mistakes, and some mistakes can be fatal, if not life changing. The really bad ones are better avoided, and we need to observe and learn from the mistakes of others, and take good advice to avoid them as well. But, God often turns our mistakes into undeserved blessings.

Finally, your photo is beautiful, and the verse well chosen to match it. Thanks for providing those for us.

Absolutely beautiful photo and verse. The upside to making a mistake is learning from it so as not to repeat it. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed weekend.

Absolutely, Lucy! Unfortunately, I know people who never learn from their mistakes, so they keep making the same ones over and over. Glad you stopped by and joined in on the discussion!

Unknown Threat is another winner by Lynn Blackburn. Loved it and all of her books! The picture and scripture are very nice. I remember from the study, Experiencing God, the statement that we are who we are because of where we have been, including our mistakes. That has stuck with me over the years. I need to pull that workbook out and read it again.

This book sounds like a Great read! Mistakes have taught me a lot of things, and mistakes are alright to make and I think we make mistakes so that we can learn from them and we learn to not make that mistake again, as long as we learn from our mistakes, I think they are a lesson taught. Have a Great weekend and stay safe.

I love the photo and verse! It sounds like you all had a special trip.
Unknown Threat is an outstanding book. Lynn definitely keeps the attention of the reader.
I believe that making mistakes helps us to, hopefully, learn something. I say hopefully because sometimes it takes making a mistake more than once for the lesson to click for us. I think it also helps us to understand that we’re not perfect and never will be.

Roxanne, I love taking pictures–I don’t plan any of the shots, only capture them when they present themselves. 🙂 Of course, I’ve been known to get up before daylight to capture the sunrise…or drive several miles because there’s a place that offers a great veiew of the setting sun. 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by, and yes, Unknown Threat is a page-turner!

The upside to mistakes is that we can learn from them. Some of my best lessons have been from making mistakes. I know that may sound funny, but it’s true 🙂

I really want to read “Unknown Threat”! It sounds like a great suspense story.

Gorgeous photo, and I love that verse of Scripture!

I think I may have shared how my wife and I got together as teenagers. It was a mistake on my part. I mistakenly thought one of my friends had a crush on this pretty young gal with whom he had been sitting in church. So I jumped ahead of him one Sunday to sit down beside her before he could. It turned out that she had a crush on me and I was quickly smitten by her. We still sit together in church. As Tim said in his comment: “But, God often turns our mistakes into undeserved blessings.” That was certainly true for me.

The upside of making a mistake, of course, is learning from it so you will not make it again and also teach others to avoid it. Only if they care to learn, of course.
I love Lynn’s writing and am looking forward to this one!
