First Line--Spring Betrayal; 2 Sam 22:17;20

First Line–Spring Betrayal by Sally Jo Pitts is this week’s offering because last week’s 1st line was so much fun, I’m doing it again (especially since I have this deadline). So grab a book and put the first line in the comments!

But first the photo and scripture. The verses from 2 Samuel 22 were in my Bible reading for the week and they really spoke to me. I hope they do you as well.

Now for my first line: “You Hoo, Mr. Grey!” Mrs. Dillingham’s singsong call grated on Robert Grey like the blast of an airhorn at a football game.

Here’s the cover and back-cover copy:

Spring Betrayal

It was supposed to be a routine investigation—catch the cheatin’ spouse of a client. And the perks weren’t bad either—set up shop at a luxury resort. So yes, Robert Grey and Jane Carson from Grey Investigations are on the job.

But when they discover the suspect is a princess wrongfully accused of abdicating and her companion dies under suspicious circumstances, the investigators find themselves in the middle of a Caribbean conspiracy to overthrow a monarchy.

Suddenly Jane must take the place of the princess to secure the throne of an island nation.

Can Grey Investigations untangle a royal mess before a revolution overtakes paradise?

I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with my review. (I will tell you I really enjoyed the story!

Oh how much I love that verse. Perfect picture to go with it, too.

“Tracy cringed. It was formal. Elegant gowns snickered at her frayed lab coat.” (“Bring ‘Em Back Alive” by Jan Seabaugh)

Just finished this, read it in 3 days and couldn’t put it down. No murders, but wonderfully intense.

Your “Standoff” is up next! Best wishes on meeting your deadline.
