As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. Ps 42:1

As I promised last week, here’s Recovered Secrets by Jessica R. Patch. It is fast-paced and full of suspense, but first a word about the meme. I’ve loved this verse for many years, and love the song that comes from it. Since I didn’t have a deer photo, I hopped over to Unsplash and found this and it was perfect!

And now onto Recovered Secrets by Jessica Patch.

A blank memory. A new life.

But her borrowed time just ran out

Two years after Grace Thackery washed up on a small-town Mississippi riverbank, she has the first clue about the life she doesn’t remember: someone wants her dead. And while search-and-rescue director Hollis Montgomery’s determined to protect her, the secrets of her past are darker than they expected. Can the bond between Grace and Hollis survive her true identity…and an assassin?

My take:

I know not everyone likes a story with amnesia, but it fits this story so well. Grace likes the new life she’s carved out until someone from her past tries to warn her that she’s a target. He’s killed before he can tell who is after her. This story involves rogue CIA agents, a virus created in a laboratory, and a past she believes she will be ashamed of. Jessica R. Patch weaves a fast pace story full of suspense about murder, danger, and redemption, one I think you’ll really enjoy.
You can purchase Recovered Secrets at:  Amazon the Kindle version is only $3.99!

Pat, beautiful words from Psalms, and I love the song set to it, too. Good photo choice to match them.

As I’ve commented before, I have an aversion to amnesia stories simply because there seem to be so many of them in proportion to reality. However, having just finished Jessica’s “Killer Exposure”, which you reviewed last week, I have put all of her suspense books on my TBR list. “Killer Exposure” was a first rate novel in my opinion, and I liked her writing style.

Another author you introduced me to (thank you!), Robin Patchen, has a big hit with “Legacy Redeemed” which I just finished. A very powerful story.

Tim, Jessica is a really good writer and I’ve been studying her books to write my own Love Inspired Suspense story. 🙂 Robin is good, too. And I have a habit of calling Jessica “Robin”. lol

Funny that you shared this picture and verse today. Yesterday morning, our pastor sent a text to a group of us asking if we could recommend a good deer repellant. Much of the county surrounding our city has been stripped of timber, so the deer population within the city limits continues to grow wherever there are any wooded areas. I think the pastor has a small backyard garden with some veggies and apparently the fence around the property isn’t keeping them away. Maybe I should share this picture and verse with the pastor.

I think I would enjoy this book.

Gloria, you will enjoy Jessica’s books! She’ll have a new one out before long–Jessica took a year off from writing to teach a Chronological Walk through the Bible women’s study.

Sounds like a good book. I have read “Cold Case Christmas” by her. It was a good book. Such a pretty picture and great verse. I enjoy the song with this verse. I finished reading “Standoff”. Wow what a great book! I stayed up late reading it. Looking forward to the next one 🙂
