THE EMPTY TOMB

THE EMPTY TOMB In Jerusalem

He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:6

It’s a strange Easter, but I believe there will be more people turning to Christ this Easter than ever before. When I was in Israel, stepping inside what is believed to be the tomb Christ was laid in after the crucifixion was a surreal experience.

Visiting Israel is something I wish everyone could experience…if we ever get back to normal. Somehow it seems not quite right to do a normal review today, so I’ll be back next week with my take on a book I’ve read lately. I will tell you that every week between Palm Sunday and Easter, I read the story of Jesus’ Passover week in the chronological Bible. It is a fascinating read.

Before I go, I want to tell who Random dot org picked for Nancy Mehl’s book: Betti!

I wish you all a Happy Easter on this Good Friday.

It is indeed a solemn day, but a “good” day as well, because Jesus declared “It is FINISHED!” Mission completed!

I do believe that many are returning to, or giving God, a second look. As most churches are doing, mine is live-streaming services, and preserving these services for later viewing. Our Palm Sunday service had more views than our usual Sunday attendance numbers. My conclusion is that many are looking for God’s comfort. God uses all events for His purposes.

Happy Easter, all of you. He is risen. He is risen, indeed!

I’m so thankful you took that trip to Israel MOSTLY for all of the personal meaning and connections it deepened. I love the greetings Russian Orthodox believers give each other on Easter mornings– “He is risen.” And the answer, “He is risen indeed!”

Blessed Easter Patricia! In my daily reading, I’ve been reading from when Jesus rode in on a donkey to His death and then resurrection on Sunday. Such a powerful reminder of what He went through all because He loves us so. It’s a solemn & sacred time of reflection and an opportunity to realize how much He desires to have fellowship and relationship with us. He is worthy to be praised!

That is so awesome that you actually got to see what’s believed to be the very tomb Jesus was buried in! I bet it brought it to life. It would give me goosebumps, in a good way I would love to travel to Israel with my husband to walk where Jesus did, or even Paul. That would be a trip of a lifetime!

Happy Easter, Pat! The world may seem practically at a standstill, but God is still working. He is in control and knows how it will end. God bless you!
