I love that scripture verse, and it seems a good time to share it. I hope everyone is staying well and safe!
This week Lisa Harris’s Deadly Intentions kept me up two nights until after midnight. This is one of her best stories ever! But then I say this after every one of her books. And talk about timely! All the victims learn about a vaccine that instead of stopping a virus, spreads it. Here’s the back cover copy:
Research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey is convinced that someone is taking out her team one by one. First, a friend and research partner was killed in a home invasion. Three months ago, her boss died in a suspicious car accident. Four days ago, another partner supposedly committed suicide. And now Caitlyn herself has miraculously survived a hit-and-run. Afraid for her life with nowhere to turn, she reaches out to one of the victim’s husbands, Detective Josh Solomon.
Though initially skeptical about Caitlyn’s theory, Josh soon realizes that the attack that took his wife’s life was anything but random. Now the two of them must discover the truth about who is after Caitlyn’s team–and what their end game is–before it’s too late.
In this nail-biting thriller, award-winning author Lisa Harris will have you believing that there’s no such thing as random.
I loved the hero and heroine! Josh’s wife is the first victim and she tried to tell Josh about the vaccine before she died. Her death looked like a burglary gone bad, but after two more deaths of employees from the same lab, he quickly realizes there is more to her death than it appears. When he tries to reopen her case after Caitlyn fills him in on what’s going on, he quickly learns he can’t trust anyone.
Caitlyn is on the run after several attempts on her life. Josh is the only one she can trust. And then she starts falling for him. I really enjoyed watching their relationship play out. I believe all romantic suspense readers will enjoy this book!
Leave a comment telling me how the virus is affecting you and whether you’re getting more time to read and I’ll enter you in a drawing for this hardback book by Lisa Harris.

We spent the day today going to three different grocery stores to get enough supplies to last awhile, as some places are shutting down now. Just having to play everything by air. Since I do plan to graduate soon, and still have to do music practice, I probably won’t get too much extra time to read, but I have a lot already, so no big deal. Might also spend some time doing jigsaw puzzles!

Don’t you wish people wouldn’t panic, Monique! There is enough toilet paper to go around and food if others don’t hoard it all. 😐 I still haven’t found any tp around here. lol And i wish I had a place to set up a jigsaw puzzle! My neighbors across the street are really into that and it is so much fun. But my cats would probably destroy any puzzle I started. lol
I have been working from home and of course doing my taxes, so I haven’t been able to do much reading.
Author
Maybe when you get your taxes done, Diana! I have mine at my accountant’s so I expect to hear from her soon…Stay safe!
I haven’t increased my reading time a whole lot as I have been doing more cleaning. Taxes & shredding are taking up more time, too.

What is it about something like this that makes us want to clean, Mary? I just took everything out of my closet and I’m not putting half of it back! (I hope lol) I’m making three piles–one to keep, one to throw away and one to give away.
First, let me say that Lisa’s book is a fantastic read. She made the characters very believable. She also did a superb job of keeping the action moving. They barely had time for a breather through the whole story. I found myself reading faster and faster to see how it would end.
Regarding the COVID-19 virus impacts on me. Frankly, I’m getting tired of all the news sources pounding on this almost exclusively. There really is other news out there we need to know about. My reading schedule is unchanged. So far, I’ve been able to buy all the food I need, though that is getting harder. I still can’t get isopropyl alcohol or toilet paper. My local neighborhood forum is reporting there are long lines to get into the stores when they open. Our church, like many others, has eliminated physical gathering for services. They will continue to post video recordings of the services to their web site, but I’ll miss being able to have the personal fellowship we’ve all enjoyed in the past. I think that has the biggest impact on me. I think we’re all praying more now to God that He uses this to strengthen us, and build His kingdom.

I’m looking for ethanol alcohol, Tim. And like you, I’m tired of hearing about the virus so my TV stays off most of the time or on the classical music station. I do hope this virus brings more people to Jesus!
I agree with each one who has mentioned media overload. And social media is as bad, if not worse. There is so much about this that is just messed up. I saw yesterday that abortion is the highest cause of death in the world with the number approaching ten million this year already while less than 10,000 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 since its inception last year. Instead of stopping abortions, the government looks for ways to allow it, while looking for ways to stop the world due to COVID-19. How messed up can the world get?

I know, Edward. It makes me so sad, and I can’t even imagine how God feels. I’m not watching much TV, except for Andy Griffin on ME TV. I’m hoping to get started on my next book, but so far I’ve been way too distracted to write. Hopefully tomorrow! Take care!
My sister and I used to go out shopping or just walking around looking at things, talking to random people and getting some social interaction. That had stopped. I am still working 3 days a week but not sure how much longer. Media overload do tv off which means more reading and sewing!!!

Hi Pamela. Our school track is still open and I usually walk there for 30-60 minutes because they have a spongy track that helps my knees and feet. And I get to at least wave at the other people walking. 🙂 Take care!
I am a teacher. This year I am the counselor for our campus, but in my heart I am a teacher. Today, I am at school and our halls are empty. Our classrooms are empty. Our bathrooms are empty. And I wonder… “Do Sally and her siblings have enough food?”…”Who will make sure Penny is taking her medicine without the school nurse to oversee it?”…”Who is looking at Diego today so that he gets the attention he needs?”…”Who is giving Steve that hug today?”…”Who is checking Peter’s Algebra homework to make sure he understands?”…”Who is taking a moment to smile at Abel…and AJ…and Caleb…and Hannah…and…”
And I stop, and I thank God that He can see each one of my students…all 600…and He knows…and He cares.
And…one final note…our teachers are busy building work packets for students to complete while they are at home so this year is not a wash…our teachers are learning how to ZOOM so that they can see their classes, and their classes can see them…and I thank God for teachers across this nation who are still loving their students.
Wow, Heather. That is just super. My heart goes out to all those students, too. This is so hard for all of us, but especially the children, many of them feeling their world is dissolving. Thank you for your care and concern. Keep up the good work! And this goes for all who are in public service, especially on the local, personal level. Keep the faith, folks.

Oh, Heather what a hard time it is for our students and teachers. Thank you for what you and (all teachers) do to encourage our students. We are gearing up to do classes with some of our students on Facebook or Zoom. But so many of them need hugs and someone who cares to interact with them. But this too shall pass. I hope and pray that it causes people to turn to Jesus!
We are remodeling our kitchen so my reading time has not increased. We have been able to get what we need so far. Focusing on prayer and keeping in contact with our children.

My kids are in South Florida and I was planning on going there for Easter. Not sure when I’ll get to go now. And that remodel will certainly keep you busy, Gloria! I did mine 7 years ago and I still remember the work. lol
I’m in a majorly affected area. I’m doing my best to stay well. Church is cancelled until who knows when. Very concerned for my mom who needs chemo and blood transfusions. I’m doing a lot of reading, cooking and cleaning. Reading my bible, praying, and doing devotions too. Thankful to generous authors and teachers for donating access to sermons, books, and devotions. Thankful for medical staff and emergency workers for their dedication and work at this time. Take care everyone and God Bless you !

I’m so thankful for all those working to resolve this and for others who have stepped up to the plate. Our pastor is doing a livestream Sunday. And our Youth leader is doing Bible studies and Sunday School. Be safe, Erika!
I’ve been reading a little bit more but sometimes it’s hard to concentrate. Doing pretty, just getting tired of the constant news coverage about it but am grateful that God is in control and not surprised by any of this.
Author
It is so hard to concentrate now, Megan. Everything is so uncertain…And yes, He was not caught by surprise by this. Praying many will turn to Him.
spending more time in prayer and bible study as well as reading

It’s what we all should be doing, Shelia! Stay safe.
Due to the virus, our local foodbank, where I volunteer, is closed for two weeks. So my Thursdays have opened up as a reading day.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the Lord will turn this situation around for our good and His glory!
Enjoy your weekend.

I’m looking forward to that as well, Caryl! Enjoy your extra day of reading and stay safe!
I’m staying in and reading and writing more. Got my tax info together today! This book sounds like a good read. Thanks for sharing.

Yay for getting your taxes done, Sally Jo! It’s a very good read! Stay safe!!
Getting supplies for my special needs son has been interesting… Taking a little more time. Thank the Lord we have not had to do without. Not really any change in my reading times.
Author
So glad you haven’t had to do without, Joni! Get plenty of rest and stay safe!
Staying in. My girls & grands come every day. Only been out to restock. Reading time, crafting, cleaning, movies, fun with grands.

One good thing from Covid 19 is families are spending more time together, Lisa! I wish mine lived closer; I was planning a trip to see them at Easter when this happened. But we are talking more on the phone. 🙂 Stay safe!
We’ve been pretty hunkered down for the last two weeks only making nessesary trips to the grocery store to get what we can and see what we can do without. My husband still has to go out for work, but they are talking about the real possibility of reducing hours and/or staff. Scary really since he’s the bread winner. I know God has taken care of us thus far so I know He’ll see us through. His work is also trying to figure out a way to help the employees and may have a good solution. We’re just crossing our fingers!
I’ve not done more reading, if anything it’s slowed down a bit. Since we are raising our six year old grand-girl & she’s out of school, it’s harder to find time during the day to find much extra hours. I’ve also been doing more cleaning because having more people under my roof drives me crazy, lol! The weather’s nicer, so at least the little can get outside with my adult son for walks or to throw around a ball or something….my grand-girl likes to look for bugs too. There is a small park here, but I’m so afraid of letting her play there right now with everything going on. So weird not to see kids having fun there and just being kids!
I’m trying to chose faith over fear, but it can be hard sometimes. I know God will take care of us so I just cling to His promises everyday. 🙂
Oh, and I love Lisa Harris! I’ve read a few of her suspense ones, she keeps you on your toes doesn’t she?
Author
Oh, my goodness, Trixi, you’re raising a six-year-old! Bless you! She will certainly keep you young. 🙂 Stay safe!!
