Late Mystery Question; Isaiah 30:21

Late Mystery Question is today’s post! Good morning! This post is two days late, but I couldn’t let you go two weeks without the answer to last week’s Mystery Question! I got so caught up in making my deadline, I forgot everything! But I turned it in at 3:31 p.m. this afternoon! I will have a couple of weeks off before I get my edits back.

Now for the photo and Scripture verse. This is one verse I pray while writing. That God will direct my writing. He will whisper in my ear the words he wants me to write. And that’s Lake Superior your see. I’m not exactly sure where this was taken, but I’m pretty sure Delores Topliff will chime in with the answer. 😉

Now for last week’s questions on reports from insurance companies and police blotters! One of the statements is FALSE, the rest, unfortunately, are true:
  1. “The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times before I hit him.”
  2. “The telephone pole was approaching fast. I was attempting to swerve out of its path when it struck my front end.”
  3. “I was driving along when all of a sudden I heard this rattlesnake in my car. It scared me so bad I ran off the road into the ditch. That’s when I found out it was my toddler shaking his baby rattle.”
  4. “The indirect cause of this accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.”

And the answer is…many of you guessed it…#3. Congrats!

Now let’s see if I can do better this week. I’m enjoying these crazy statements so once again I’m listing three true insurance/police statements from accident reports. One is false. It is your job, should you decide to take it, to guess the false statement.
  1. “The pedestrian had no idea which direction to go, so I ran over him.”
  2. “I drank too much and kissed a woman who wasn’t my wife, and her husband knocked my lights out.”
  3. “Coming home, I drove into the wrong house and collided with a tree I don’t have.”
  4. “I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law, and headed over the embankment.”

Okay, Super Sleuths, leave a comment and I’ll enter you in a February drawing for a $10 gift card. And I’ll announce the winner of January’s drawing next week…

Late Mystery Question is this week's post. As usual, four statements, three true. Which one did I make up? Share on X
Oh, and Happy Ground Hogs Day! I’m hoping and praying that he doesn’t see his shadow so spring will arrive! 😉

Your photo was taken at lovely Artist’s Point in grand Marais, Minnesota on Lake Superior. It was a pleasure to take you there.
This week I think you made up number four. Huge congratulations on meeting your deadline. Now rest a bit and enjoy the other parts of life 🙂

I love the photo of kitchi-gami (I’ve been reading Colleen Coble’s books which are set in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula near the Keweenaw Peninsula). And, I would not want to turn too far to the right or left if I was crossing on what looks to be a break-water construction. God is telling us to walk the straight and narrow.

Pat, you are right about how funny these insurance reports are. At least I wasn’t drinking my breakfast orange juice when I read them! I believe you made up #2. I just can’t tell whether the jealous husband punched out kisser’s car lights or the kisser himself.

Glad you made your deadline, and I’m looking forward to your book’s release.

Tim, your comments always make me laugh! As for that straight and narrow path–I wish choices were more like the path in the photo–be much easier to stay straight. 🙂 We’ll see if it’s #2 next week.

Ha! These were great!!! You certainly made it hard to choose. I love #1, because it was so nonchalant that it made me burst out in laughter. However, I’m going with #2, because “knocked my lights out” is a phrase I don’t often hear nowadays.

The photo reminds me of a Nancy Drew story I read as a kid. This picture spells mystery and intrigue to me.

Most definitely, the Lord will direct our steps. Powerful Scripture when we take it to heart.

Now a sad note for you. I just checked. The groundhog saw his shadow…six more weeks….sorry. 🙁 But! Maybe we’ll still get some snow over here. 🙂

Congratulations on getting the book turned in. Enjoy some free time!

Thanks, Barbara…as for the groundhog, I don’t really pay any attention to whether he sees his shadow. 😉 Besides, we often get all four seasons in one day here in Mississippi. lol And we’ll see next week if it’s #2

I don’t pay attention to the groundhog either. It seems he is never right anyway. Our weather is the almost the same as yours….all four seasons in one day!

Lovely photo and verse! I’m so glad you met your deadline and can take a short breather before edits start.
We have been buried under ice and snow all this week, an unusual event for Texas, so I truly hope spring is just around the corner.
I’m going to guess #3. Thanks for the morning chuckles!

Pat, congratulations on making your deadline! I know those times must become very stressful.

I love the picture with the Scripture verse. The picture makes me want to take a trip there.

I think it depends on where you live whether you will have an early spring or six more weeks of winter. Phil says six more weeks. Staten Island Chuck says early spring. Based on our weather here, I don’t think there was any way a groundhog would have seen its shadow.

A friend emailed me a list of the Stella Awards this morning (the ones named after the lady who sued McDonalds after burning her legs with hot coffee). I think your list today could result in some Stella Awards. I want to choose the first one because no one else has, but I’m choosing #2. I don’t think a man would tell an officer he was too drunk to know the woman wasn’t his wife. Unless she was very drunk or very stupid, I can’t see a woman standing still with a drunk headed her way intent on kissing her. However, I can picture the husband of the woman punching out a drunk who kissed his wife.

Edward, I always enjoy your comments. I’ll have to research the Stella Awards! I actually remember when that happened and just shook my head. We’ll see how your logic works on the answer next week!

I remember that decision also. My boss and I were going somewhere on a trip and were talking about it. Seems like we were joking around about which one of us wanted to get burnt and the other would be the witness. We would share the money. Just some crazy talk to pass our time while driving down the highway. We figured no one else would get away with that. Instead, I think things only got worse with people winning lawsuits for large sums of money that were not justified.

Congratulations on making your deadline! That is an amazing photo. It looks like an area I need to put on my bucket list of places to visit. Going with #1 this week.

I’ve missed being here so much!! Too many things happening in my life I guess 🙁

Anywhoo…I have NO idea which of these is the false statements because they are all crazy enough to be true 😀 I’ll go with #4 this week because it made me laugh the hardest.

Pretty picture to go with one of my favorite scriptures. It’s one that reminds me God will always guide me in my life. I love that! 🙂
