Now onto Time after Tyme by Kay Dibianca. Here’s the cover and back cover copy:
My take:
I loved this mystery that reminded me of an Agatha Christie story. In Time after Tyme, Kay Dibianca has created unique and likable characters, and ten-year-old Irene Penterson, aka Reen, almost steals the show. Reen aspires to be an investigative reporter, and when she overhears Katherine Frasier and her fiancé talking about a recent death possibly being murder, Reen sets out to solve the case. Of course, Catherine and her sister, CeCe are hot on the trail as well.
Kay Dibianca drops in plenty of clues but I’d be surprised if you guessed the murderer before the reveal. I love that she also used code in the story. I love trying my hand at code-breaking. 😉
This is the third book in The Watch Series of clean mysteries, but you don’t have to read the other two to know what’s going on. That said, once you read this one, if you haven’t already, you’ll find yourself quickly reading the other two.
Right now you can find buy links to Time after Tyme here.

Thank you for writing Time after Tyme, Kay! It was an enjoyable read and did remind me of an Agatha Christie with your quirky characters 🙂 Will be posting reviews on Amazon, etc later today. 🙂
Thank you!
Sounds like a fun read, especially the code part. I always enjoyed Nancy Drew stories as well as Tom Sawyer. Thanks for telling us about Time after Tyme, Pat.
Philippians 4:8 has been my life verse for many years. It always helps me to get back in focus. However, I’m adding a few more verses as life verses these days. One can never have too many in the arsenal.
Author
Absolutely, Barbara. I’ll probably do a post on verses for our arsenal–we need all we can get. I think the Scripture that I usually fall back on is Isaiah 43:1-3. Just reading that He calls us by name does something to me every time!
Ooh great idea to do a post on an Arsenal of verses! Yep, the fact that He calls us by name is pretty powerful. Check out the end of verse four in the NLT Bible! I love reading that along with the verses 1-3!
It sounds like a delightful mystery. Clever title, too!

I thought the title was clever, too, Priscilla! I love a good mystery that I can sift through the clues and discover who the killer is before the end. When I was reading Agatha Christie, I could never figure out the killer. Maybe I need to reread those and see if I’ve improved…
I put this on my Goodreads want to read list a couple of weeks ago. I may have seen that you liked it. Not sure. I did not realize that it is part of a series though. Thanks for the review.

That’s awesome, Gloria! You don’t have to read the others to understand what’s going on, buy Kay’s one of those authors you’ll want to read all her books!
Beautiful photo. Thanks for sharing your review, the book sounds really good.

Thanks, Megan! I think you’d enjoy the book!
Pat, I knew it was only a matter of tyme before you reviewed Kay’s book. 🙂 It was a delightful read.
Great photo, and another of my favorite verses. Glad the flowers are coming out where you are. We just finished winter here in Tucson. The temps are back in the 70s where they belong, the that cold snap we had the other week nailed my blooming bushes. The solution is to cut them back and wait for the new growth to appear, thanks to the great Designer.
“If Londyn had to stay at this party for one more minute, she couldn’t be responsible for her actions.” is the first line in the first book of Susan Sleeman’s new series Steele Guardians. The book is “Tough as Steele”. It’s a great read, too.

I really enjoyed Kay’s book, Tim. I didn’t realize it’d been out for a while…not sure why I thought that way. As always, good to see you here!
I love Agatha Christie, anything Christie-related, and mysteries reminiscent of her mysteries.

Then you will enjoy Time after Tyme!, Joy.
Love that picture! That shade of yellow is one of my favorites, at least for flowers. I don’t care for it on cars. The part of the verse that says “whatever things are lovely” nailed it. That is such a special verse.
I finally was able to start on Lynette Eason’s Life Flight yesterday. First line: Today was not going to be the day they died—not if she had anything to say about it.
Author
Edward, I have Lynette’s book on my TBR table, but I can’t seem to get to any of my books lately. I’m so tired when I go to bed, I go to sleep instead of reading. lol
sounds like a interesting book!

Natayla, I wish I could listen to books! I guess I’m too ADHD to focus on it. I have a hard time watching a movie. lol
I so look forward to your Friday reviews! I have found some new authors that I am enjoying. Time After Tyme sounds like another good one I’ll have to investigate. Thanks!
