Good morning! If you haven’t read any books by Richard L. Mabry, M.D., you are truly missing great reads. I’ve read all of his books since the first one, Code Blue, usually in one sitting and often late into the night since I can’t seem to put them down. The last one, Cardiac Event was no exception. He had me on the edge of my seat…er, bed.
Here’s the back cover copy:
Cardiologist Dr. Kirk Martin continually crosses swords with Dr. Cliff Hamilton, so he is surprised when Hamilton asks him to care for him after a heart attack. When he is ready for discharge, Hamilton is found dead in his hospital bed, and Martin is suspected of murdering him.
After another doctor is found shot to death, Martin’s girlfriend, nurse Janet Rush, reminds him to be careful because he may be next. Can he save his own life while searching for the identity of the real murderer?
And here’s my review:
Richard Mabry has hit another home run with Cardiac Event. This book had me hooked from the first page. It has suspense, romance and a nice twist at the end. There were plenty of people who didn’t like the victim, making it hard to decide which person hated him the most.

I really liked the hero, Dr. Kirk Martin. He’s just the kind of doctor everyone wants. Caring, smart and courageous. Doc Mabry did a great job of creating this character. And the romance with Janet Rush was just the right touch. This is a great read.

Thanks for another author I haven’t read yet, Edward. Proof reading. That’s what I’ve been doing this week on the 3rd Cold Case book, Justice Betrayed. 🙂
I have many of Richard’s novels on my shelf. I love medical thrillers and can’t get enough 🙂 I just recently got on Jordyn Redwood’s street team and she writes for Love Inspired Suspense with a medical angle. She’s also an emergency room nurse specializing in critical care so you know her stories come from an authentic source!
For this week, my reads included reading and finishing Of Rags and Riches Romance collection (nine various authors), a brand new release called Love Lessons (Celebrate Fall with six inspirational back-to-school romances) including stories by Tina Radcliffe, Cate Nolan, Jessica Keller, Merrillee Whren, Kristen Ethridge, and Cheryl Wyatt; lastly I’m starting a brand new debut Love Inspired Historical by a brand spanking new author Angie Dicken entitled The Outlaw’s Second Chance. Whew…that’s a lot of reading for the week 🙂 I always love sharing what I’ve read, it shows me just how many books I’ve gotten read. I’m always amazed how far I get!
