Reader Friday – How many books will you read this year?

Patricia Bradley Reader Friday 32 Comments

I read more books last year than I’ve read in a long time. How many? I don’t know. I didn’t keep count. But this year that will change because I’ve taken the Goodreads Challenge. And I’ve signed up to read 100 books.

Do you want to take the Goodreads Challenge? If so, it’s really easy. Just click here.

Now a couple of questions. How many books did you read last year? How many will you read this year?

Leave your answer in the comments to be entered in a drawing at the end of the month for two of the books in my library. I’ll be adding more books each week. There will be two winners this month!

A few my books that the winner can choose from are shown in the photos.

Oh, and if you’re looking for more books to read, you can find plenty in Southern Writer’s Magazine’s Winter Reading Catalog!

I’ve read 114 books in 2017. My goal was 100. For 2018, my goal is still 100 books but not sure if I’ll make it since it promises to be a busier year.

I didn’t keep very good track of what I read last year. I know it was at least 30 books, but can’t give an exact number beyond that. I put 60 as my goal for the challenge for this year. I have already finished 2 and am almost done a third; so far, so good!

Christian romantic mysteries or suspense. I have to do a lot of resting each day, so therefore, I read!

I did the 2017 Goodreads Challenge and I fell a little short. I read 67 out of my goal of 70. For 2018, I decided to keep the goal the same. Sometimes I miss those times in my life when I was able to polish off a book in 1 or 2 days. There are so many books on my shelves that are calling for me to read them. 🙂

I had never kept track of how many books I read in a year, before 2017, so I blindly set a goal–100 books! I ended up reading 125 (or that’s how many I put on goodreads, could have been a few more along the way…). This year I’m setting my goal at 150. We’ll see if that’s too high! 🙂 Thanks for doing another giveaway!

I have been doing the Goodreads challenge the last few years and that’s a great way to keep up with the number read. Last year, my challenge was for 60 and I read 101 so for 2018, I am trying for 75.

I’ve been doing the good reads challenge for a couple of years. Last year my goal was 100 and I read 154. My kids are grown and I don’t watch any t.v. hardly at all. I have signed up again for 100 books again this year.

I watch very little tv, but LOVE to read. Am retired…read 147 in 2017. I will shoot for 150 in 2018….on #2 already and plan to read Justice Buried next as I downloaded it yesterday.

Last year my goal was 150 on goodreads. I did 152. Some were novellas but they count! This year I decided to increase to 175. So far I’m behind but expect to catch up . Those novellas sure help. Then I read some kids books for my grandkids! They count , too! And don’t forget to review those books! Goodreads allows you to also post the review on Facebook with one click! Blessings!

So right, Paula! I try to review every book I read. I have a couple of reviews I need to put up, too. Having a Reader Friday blog helps keep me motivated to write the reviews! 🙂

I started keeping track of the books I read 15-20 years ago. Then about four years ago, I was introduced to Goodreads and have been taking the Reading Challenge each year. I think I have been setting my goal at 100 for the past couple of years and set it at that again for 2018. I read 142 books last year.

I did the Goodreads Reading Challenge & read & reviewed 120 books in 2017. I have 125 as my goal in 2018 but hope to beat that as well.
