THIS WEEK’S MYSTERY QUESTION

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 41 Comments

This is another of my favorite scripture passages and on I depend on daily.

It’s been an interesting week and I did finally get something written on the new book. One paragraph. 🙂 But, it is a very important paragraph because now I know how I’ll open the story! Once I get a little more added to it, I’ll share it with you.

Did you know you can see me read the prologue of Standoff, Natchez Trace Park Rangers, Book 1? The video is over at Family Fiction. Just click here.

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question: Four insurance claims. Three are true, one is made up. Can you tell which one I made up?
  1. “I was driving along the expressway when the police pulled me over onto the shoulder. Unfortunately, I was in the middle lane and there was another car in the way..”
  2. The claimant had collided with a cow. The questions and answers on the claim form were – Q: What warning was given by you? A: Horn. Q: What warning was given by the other party? A: Moo.
  3. “An invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my car and vanished.”
  4. “I gave a signal to turn, but the other car hit me anyway.”

And the answer is…#4. Congrats to all you guessed right! I liked these so well, I think I’ll do one more.

This week’s Mystery Question: Four insurance claims again. Three are true, one is made up. Can you tell which one I made up?
  1. “I came around a corner while cycling to work and was run off the road by a herd of guinea pigs. I broke my arm.”
  2. “I had my window down and was listening to the radio when a candle fly flew in and landed on my dashboard. I didn’t see the ditch coming because I was trying to catch the candle fly.”
  3. “I rear-ended the car in front of me and smashed the taillight. I then reversed slightly so I could see the damage, but hit the front bumper of the driver behind me. Then I opened my door to exit the vehicle and knocked down a passing cyclist.”
  4. “The accident was caused by me waving to a man I hit last week.”

Okay, Mystery Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in April’s drawing for a book from my library.

Oh, and there are two more days to get Justice Delayed for $1.99!

Pat, that Scripture is a favorite of mine, and of several friends, too. Thanks for the reminder.

Those claims are driving me nuts! Each is just weird enough to be true, and some people are downright strange with their excuses. However, I’m going with #2. I have no idea what a candle fly is. I guess some research is in order. Thanks for these mystery questions. They get my Tuesdays off to a good start.

That’s another one I had to look up, Tim. A candle fly is a moth. Again, it may just be what the guy calls moths…and maybe I just made it up. Glad you enjoyed my scripture! Blessings!

I think #3 is made up, or that person is beyond careless. I almost expected there to be one more sentence: “As the driver stepped from the vehicle, he was run over by a Mack truck.” And obviously the cause of death would have been COVID-19. I didn’t mean to include that last sentence. It just jumped onto the screen.

I love the Scripture you shared. One of the few things my family did together when I was growing up, besides going to church together, was going to Gospel Singings. “They That Wait Upon the Lord,” based on this Scripture was always one of my favorite songs.

Oh, Edward, you had me leaning back in my chair, laughing! I love going to gospel singings. We still have a few around here sometimes, but it’s never when I can go. We used to go to Shape Note singings, too. I always thought they were saying shave-note and wondered how you could shave a note. 🙂 We’ll see if it’s #3…

Pat, have you watched any of the Gaither Homecoming videos? We have a number of them. I would love to go to one of their live recording events. My wife and I have not been to a Gaither event that was being recorded live, but we were able to attend one of The Hoppers and one of the Collingsworth Family. We actually sat on the front row at the Collingsworth event in High Point, NC. We are in several shots as the camera panned the audience. I have heard some of the groups do some “shave note” singing on their videos, but I don’t think we’ve heard any of them live.

I haven’t seen the Gaithers live, but had a friend who interviewed Gloria Gaither a few years ago. I love their shows. And I looked up shape-note vs shave-note and the names seem to be interchangeable, Edward. 🙂 I’d love to see the one with you in the shots!

HAHA the person from #3 is having an especially bad day….that one made me laugh out loud! Almost sounds like the looney tune cartoons I used to watch as a kid, Road Runner being my favorite 🙂

It’s between #2 and #4 this week, but I’m strongly leaning towards #4 so that’s my choice.

I love the scripture you shared, it’s one that really helps in times of trouble & a good reminder to put our trust in God. Thanks for sharing it! I remember years ago the church we were going to did a study on Eagles, it was fasinating and our pastor applied spiritual truths. It was a wonderful study and really put this scripture in a new light for me.

I’d love to sit in on a study on Eagles, Trixi! And I can see how easy it would be to apply spiritual truths in that way. Thanks for dropping by and adding to the discussion!! Stay safe.

That is one of my favorite verses too. These claims are crazy! Guinea Pigs? Ha, ha. I’m going to try #2.

Hi Erika! Yes, that’s a favorite of mine…I’m finding I have a lot of favorites. 🙂 Searching the internet for these excuses are quite fun! We’ll see next week if it’s #2. Thanks for stopping by.

I also love that scripture. Love the imagery of of an eagle soaring so majestically. I’ll pick #1.

Thanks for the beautiful scripture! What a great reminder :). These are all so comical, I am having trouble picking just one…lol, but I will go with # 4 as well.

Well, I am rather torn between 1 and 2 (although 3 and 4 could just as easily be false). One just seems so ludicrous it has to be true, so I’m gonna go with #2 this time.

True! You know you’re in trouble when the lie seems more believable than the truth!!
