The Hefty-bag Caper

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 4 Comments

criminalGasp! Two more weeks to go before I turn in the second book in the Memphis Cold Case series! Justice Buried (as I  call it) isn’t where it needs to be at this point, so all prayers are most welcome. 🙂

Last week’s Mystery Question:

When a robber’s .38-caliber revolver failed to fire at its intended victim during a hold-up, he did something that can only inspire wonder: he peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. Happily for most concerned, this time it worked.

What do you think? Did I make it up or is it true?

Leave your guess in the comment box.

And one more:

Two characters in the United Kingdom held up a post office. When they went outside they found their getaway car had been stolen. One of them had left the keys inside. They flagged down a passing car with the intention of using it as a getaway. Unfortunately for them, it was a police car. Again, leave your guess as to whether this is true or I made it up.

Answer:

Looks like I didn’t fool anyone! Yes, these stories actually happened.

Now for this week’s Mystery Question: The Hefty-bag Caper

A man went into a drug store, pulled a gun, announced a robbery, and pulled a Hefty-bag face mask over his head. How did the police nab him?

  1. One of the clerks saw him before he pulled the Hefty-bag over his face and recognized him as her neighbor.
  2. The drug store had a surveillance camera that caught him pulling the Hefty-bag on.
  3. He forgot to put eyeholes in the Hefty- bag.
  4.  One of the clerks recognized his voice even though he had on the Hefty-bag and called him by name, and he gave up.
