The Bahamas and Other Things

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 40 Comments

The Bahamas were fabulous. The photo is of the moon setting in Nassau the first morning out. It looks like the sun, doesn’t it? The next night it was huge as it rose on the horizon and even reddish in color. My iPhone didn’t capture the red that well, but it’s still pretty!

As I write this I’ve just returned from an exploration of the city. Only my friend and I would take a water taxi to Paradise Island to see the Gardens that are in Nassau. But the taxi ride was really fun. Once we were back in Nassau, we took a city bus to the gardens…unfortunately by the time we got there, I was too tired to see them. lol So we found a taxi and came back to the ship.

It was an exciting trip with Netflix being interested in my two series and three editors requesting to look at my cozy mystery once I get it finished!

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question: Below are for four statements about me. One of them is false. Can you guess which one? Leave your answer in the comments and tell me something about yourself no one else knows…
  1. I won the City-wide Spelling Bee when I was in the 6th grade.
  2. I was thrown from a horse I was breaking when the saddle girth broke.
  3. I can bend over and touch the floor flat-handed with my legs straight.
  4. I’ve been keeping company with the same fellow for twenty years.

And the answer is…#1. Edward had it right even though the “for” was a typo. lol. I’ve been doing Pilates for fifteen years and that has kept me very flexible, and I can also do planks.  And I really have broken horses to saddle and have been thrown more than once. As well as having one to rear up and fall back on my legs. If I hadn’t been in soft dirt, both legs would have been broken.

Now for this week’s Mystery Question. Three of the following blotter reports are true. One is false. Which one is the false one?
  1. An inebriated man managed to mistake a giant container for his room at a B&B and passed out inside. The next morning when he woke up, he realized his mistake and called for help. The only problem was, he didn’t know where he was and he was one hour away from being placed on a cargo ship bound for Los Angeles.
  2. A man called police after his wife locked him out and threatened to sic the dog on him if he tried to get in. It seems he forgot her birthday and she wanted to make sure he never forgot again.
  3. Police charged a man with driving a stolen vehicle after he stopped them to ask for directions.
  4. A woman called the local sheriff’s department about filing charges against her housekeeper because she wasn’t folding her towels correctly.

Okay, Mystery Sleuths, what’s the correct incorrect answer? Leave your guess in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library. Winner will be announced next Tuesday for February!

So glad you had a wonderful time. The Caribbean is beautiful! I’m vascillating on which to choose, but I am going say #4. If it’s not, do I ever feel sorry for the housekeeper!

Glad your trip went well!! Beautiful pictures. I am torn between #2 and #4. Both seem crazy and yet still quite possible. I am going to guess #2 simply because I would hope the dog would not attack his owner, even if the wife said to do so.
