Say What? ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 44 Comments

fter Say What; Psalm 46:1

Say What is this week’s Mystery Question. But first the scripture and photo that was taken many years ago.

I took the photo probably ten or twelve years ago. I was driving down the highway and looked to my left and there was this beautiful double rainbow. After pulling over I snapped this with my iPhone 3. And I love Psalm 46…Be still and know that I am God has long been one of my life verses.

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question. I found four more stupid criminal stories that are too stupid to be true…except three of them are. It’s up to you to figure out which one I made up.
  1. A man who tried to hold up a bank that was no longer in business and had no money.
  2. The robber ran into his mother while making his getaway. She turned him in.
  3. A robber had his gun pointed at the teller when he noticed a surveillance camera pointed at him. He froze then fired, destroying the camera, which was on a live feed with his image forever captured.
  4. A holdup man thought that if he smeared mercury ointment on his face, it would make him invisible to the cameras. Actually, it accentuated his features, giving authorities a much clearer picture.

And the answer is #3. Congrats to all who guessed correctly.

Now for this week’s Mystery Question: The following are short quotes from actual police reports; statements either taken directly off of insurance forms or things said directly to the officer taking the report. One is false the rest, unfortunately, are true.
  1. “When I told my girlfriend to get out of the car, I thought she’d wait until I stopped.”
  2. “I was taking my canary to the hospital. It got loose in the car and flew out the window. The next thing I saw was his rear end, and there was a crash.”
  3. And this one: “I had been learning to drive with power steering. I turned the wheel to what I thought was enough and found myself in a different direction going the opposite way.
  4. Or is it this one: “I told the police I was not injured, but upon removing my hair, I found that I had a fractured skull.”

Okay Mystery Sleuths, which report did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a January drawing for a book from my library!

Say What? is this week Mystery Question. As usual, four scenarios, three true and one I made up. Can you guess which one? Leave your answer in the comments and I'll enter you in a January drawing for a book from my library! Share on X

Hahaha all quite funny! #4 was a true burst-out laughing one, so that’s my choice.

The double rainbow is amazing. Psalm 46: 1-2 is also one of my favorites. When we do the Be still and know…part, in verse 10, God’s presence is quite delightful. Oh, but sometimes it’s so hard to be still.

The peace of the LORD be with you today.

Hi Kay! Glad you liked the photo and verse. Whenever my ADHD gets going, I focus on the Be still and know I am God. 🙂 And I’m glad I gave you a laugh this morning. 😉 We’ll see if it’s #3, which seems to be very popular!

I love double rainbows. That Psalm is so comforting.

Pat, I’ve got to learn not to be drinking anything when I read your mystery questions. I almost had to clean Gatorade from my keyboard! I think you made up #4. How would removing your hair (wig I presume) reveal a fractured skull, and the person not originally think he/she was injured?

I love the picture and verse. To paraphrase an old song from maybe the 60s the picture caused me to recall: “Double portion of my Father’s love!”

I chose #4. I can definitely see the second one happening. I’ve been in a somewhat similar situation at least three times when involved in an accident due to a distraction. I’m still trying to sort out that third one.

I’m going with # 1, however, my first thought was # 3. Then I realized this is what happened to me. I fishtailed halfway around, and it was a 1959 Cadillac. LOL!

Ahhh! Love your photo and verse as usual! God has given us so many visual reminders of His love and faithfulness!
I’m going to guess #2 this week
