Really Really Dumb Criminals 2 is this week’s Mystery Question. But first the photo and verse.
I took this while riding on a golf cart in Florida, where there are some really beautiful clouds. I thought the verse fit well — I am always in awe when I see God’s handiwork. I kept thinking I’d see a rainbow, but you have to have rain first, and it’s the dry season in Florida…maybe my next visit. 🙂
Now for last week’s Mystery Question, Really Really Dumb Criminals. As usual, four choices, three of which are true. I made up one–can you guess which one?
- One guy believed lemon juice made him invisible. He rubbed lemon juice on his face and robbed two banks without a mask. He seemed really surprised when the teller picked him out of a lineup.
- A man tried to steal a frozen turkey by stuffing it down his pants, leading to awkward moments and a quick arrest.
- Thieves dressed as cops and wore high-quality Hollywood masks á la the pro wrestler Goldberg. Their undoing? Thanking the mask company for doing such a great job on their Goldberg mask.
- One would think that if a driver had 4 kilos of cocaine in the trunk of his car, he wouldn’t smoke marijuana and run a red light. Unfortunately, that was the case of one driver, and when he lowered his window, the officer had probable cause to search the car, where he found the cocaine.
And the answer is…#4. Congrats to all who guessed correctly!
Now for this week’s Mystery Question, Really Really Dumb Criminals 2. As usual, four choices, three of which are true. I made up one–can you guess which one?
- It’s great to pay your court fines, but not when you use a stolen credit card to do so. That’s what happened with this criminal.
- This guy planned the heist job down to the smallest detail, even to where he would hide while waiting to break into the jewelry store. Unfortunately for him, he failed to notice the signs warning of camera surveillance…that caught his image quite plainly.
- What happens when you live-stream climbing a cell tower? Why, the police come and arrest you, that’s what.
- If you’re driving under the influence, never, ever stick your finger in your White Claw can when the police pull you over. It’ll get you in jail every time.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library.

It’s be
en eighteen years since TV crime reporter Andi Hollister’s sister was murdered. The confessed killer is behind bars, and the execution date is looming. But when a letter surfaces stating that the condemned killer didn’t actually do it, Detective Will Kincaide of the Memphis Cold Case Unit will stop at nothing to help Andi get to the bottom of it. After all, this case is personal: the person who confessed to the crime is Will’s cousin.
They have less than a week to find the real killer before the wrong person is executed. But much can be accomplished in that week–including uncovering police corruption, running for your life, and falling in love. With the perfect mixture of intrigue and nail-biting suspense, award-winning author Patricia Bradley invites her readers to crack the case–if they can–alongside the best Memphis has to offer.
Now for this week’s song. It has great meaning for me because I have soooo much that I need to do right now…

#3 of the 4 questions is made up
Author
Hi Crystal! We’ll see…
“One Day at a Time” is such a beautiful song. I think you made up #4 again. I mean, you can’t really get your finger stuck in a can, can you?
Author
He-he-he…maybe, Priscilla. We’ll see next week…

We’ll see, BN100!
I am going with number 3. Love the picture and verse so Florida.
Author
Sharon, Florida has some of the most beautiful cloud formations I’ve ever seen. We’ll see next week if it’s #3…
A camel in the upper right corner. Below it on the middle right two pigs. 🙂
The rest sheer beauty. Of course, I had to start singing Morning Has Broken.
The perfect Scripture for the photo.
Going with #3
Btw are you now going with Mondays instead of Tuesdays for these crimes?
Author
Barbara, I thought today was Tuesday…oh, rats! If it’s Monday, I have a drs appointment this afternoon…we’ll see if it’s #3 next week…
Those clouds look ominous, but the Psalm speaks to encouragement. Striking photo, Pat. And, I love Christy Lane’s singing.
So, no one taught these crooks that crime doesn’t pay? Apparently not!
#1. Why am I not surprised at this? Thieves do what thieves do.
#2. Isn’t that what the cameras are for? I don’t see the surprise here.
#3. Well, duh.
#4. Got your claw in the White Claw. Seems fitting.
I believe you made up #2. It just seems too obvious, but we are dealing with dummies.
Author
Yes, the clouds do look ominous, but I loved the contrast of the clouds and the sun. I love your logic with the questions…we’ll see if it’s #2…
I don’t have a guess this week because they all sound too dumb to be true.
Author
Carolyn, that is too funny!
I am guessing that you made up #1 this week.
Author
Hi Gloria. We’ll see how your guessing goes next week.
A beautiful and interesting photo, Pat. Love the song, “One Day at a Time”.

Thanks, Mary. And I enjoyed finding the song. We’ll see if it’s #3 next week.
Nor sure, but I’ll guess you made up #1. There’s a bunch of bone head crooks.
Author
Bone head crooks–perfect name for that bunch, Dee. We’ll next week if it’s #1…
I guessing #3 this week.

We’ll see, Gail…

We’ll see, Mary.
I think you made up #2.
Author
Hi Deborah…we’ll see if it’s #2 next week…
Wonderful scripture verse! I love the picture, but it seems like quite a letdown from flying a plane to riding a golf cart. LOL! Cristy Lane does a beautiful job on that song.
1. A credit card is a credit card. Why should it matter what name is on it?
2. Apparently he didn’t plan it down to the last detail if he omitted the one about going to jail.
3. I wonder what is so special about climbing a cell tower that someone would livestream it.
4. I never heard of White Claw until I read this. I’m still missing why sticking his finger in the can would get him thrown in jail.
I think #2 is made up. It seems anyone should expect a jewelry store to have cameras same as they would expect it in a bank. Failing to plan for cameras would be a huge omission.
Author
Yeah, Edward, it is a little bit of a letdown…and I love your logic with the questions. Not sure how it will work out but we’ll see next week…
I am guessing three. You are so lucky to spend time in Florida!
Author
How well I know. Judy! I’m wishing I was there right now. My daughter told me this morning it was 70° at 8 a.m….while I was freezing at 29°… We’ll see next week if it’s #3.
#1
Author
We’ll see, Caryl!
#4?
Author
Maybe, Barbie D…
I’m actually seeing things in your cloud picture Patricia! To the right of the sun, I’m seeing an Angel floating and to the right of it, a dog’s face with long ears! And I saw some gators at the bottom, but they disappeared. lol!
I’m going to pick #4, mainly because I’ve never heard of White Claw. I’m still reeling from last week’s criminal thinking lemon juice would make you invisible. That’s so dumb!!! Lord help them. 🙂
Author
I’m still laughing about that one, Dottie. We’ll see if White Claw did you in or you got it right. 🙂
To be honest, they’re all believable, but I’ll go with #4.
Author
It’s sad they they’re all believable, isn’t it Kelly? We’ll see if it’s #4 next week…
