Myth or Truth?

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 43 Comments

I’m not sure how many of you are country music fans, but it’s what I cut my teeth on and grew up listening to as a teenager.

I’ll never forget these kids getting on the school bus when I was about twelve and telling us that Johnny Cash had spent the weekend with his family and would be there all week if we wanted to meet him. At that time, he hadn’t made a name for himself, so I wasn’t too impressed and passed.

Just wondering what else I’ve missed in life by saying no…I know that time I missed a great chance to meet a young Johnny Cash!!

But all that to mention there’s a Ken Burns special on PBS about the history of Country Music that is so interesting. If you want to learn about our musical history, tune in!

And before we go to the Mystery Question, if you didn’t get my newsletter, I’d like to tell you about the great deal on Justice Delayed for $1.99 FREE and Justice Delivered for $6.99! It’s just for this week, so if you don’t have these books, this is a great chance to get them at a good price!

And not only that, but remember when I brainstormed with three other authors? Well, those three authors are putting their books on sale, too and a couple of them are free. Click here for more details.

Now onto last week’s Mystery Question: Three are true. Which one did I make up? You can google the answers, but try to guess first. 😉
  1. Donkeys kill more people annually than planes.
  2. If Barbie were life-size, she’d stand 7 feet, 9 inches tall and her measurements would be 42-22-34.
  3. Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.
  4. Walt Disney was afraid of mice.

Okay, I admit I made a huge gaff. It turns out only one was true and that was #3. LOL That taught me a lesson. I need to research these questions as thoroughly as I do my books. 🙂 The only one that was true is #3.

Now onto this week’s Mystery Question. This week it’s a little different per Edward’s suggestion. Below are four statements. ONE IS TRUE. Three are false. Which one is true?
  1. Marilyn Monroe had six toes on one foot.
  2. A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one.
  3. Ostriches stick their heads in the sand when they are afraid.
  4. You are more likely to be bitten by a New Yorker than a shark.

Okay, Super Sleuths. Only one of those statements is true. Can you guess which one? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library.

You actually got me to go look up some of these so I’ll choose #2 but these were also fun. I do know if Marilyn had 6 toes on one foot, she would have had them on both AND six toes on each hand. (I someone in Israel w/ that phenomenon.) For last week I DIDN’T want apples to have more caffeine than good old coffee. Can you please change that fact for me? Thanks!

Number two. We had a discussion about that at the dinner table tonight, actually! Mum doesn’t agree, but Dad, once a butcher, says it is true for sure!!

Yup, #2 is true. Not worried about sharks or New Yorkers. Now mosquitoes, that’s another matter.
As for country music, some I like, some not; just like most music genres. But, I do love Johnny Cash!

Sad about you missing out on meeting Johnny Cash. I still have a couple of his 33 1/3 RPM albums, but haven’t listened in years. He was a favorite. It looks unanimous so far. I agree that 2 is true. I know very little about Marilyn Monroe. The fourth just might be true in a figurative sense but probably not literally.

    I think #2.
Sad about missing Johnny Cash. I grew up on his music. I like the older stuff (most of it), but you can keep the new stuff

I’m confident it’s #3 that is the false statement this week. 😉 Now to see if that proves correct next Tuesday…lol!

Oh!! I read that wrong! I thought it was guess the false one as usual….ooops! *smacks my forehead*

Okay so let’s have a do-over: I’m confident #2 is the true statement 😉 I think you tricked me Patricia….lol! Just kidding.

Well, this is an easy one for me this time! The answer is definitely #2 – one of the first things learned when learning to cook; keep your knives sharp! I am not a coffee drinker, so apples being better than caffeine makes me happy, indeed!
