Mystery Question~Riddles Take 6–this week no math, just ordinary mystery riddles for you to solve! By the way, I had to look at the answer to #1. Math and I just don’t co-exist. But how about that photo! Sometimes a verse will come to me and I don’t have the perfect photo so I hop over to Unsplash.
Now onto last week’s riddles!
1. Mystery Question~Riddles, Take 5: Grandma and Cake
Answer: The correct answer is 2. How? At each bridge, you are required to give half of your cakes, and you receive one back. Which leaves you with 2 cakes after every bridge. Sounds so simple…
2. Mystery Question~Riddles, Take 5: Christian school
Answer: Several answered sin and that’s correct in one sense, but the answer I was looking for was His own equal! We see our equals every day, but since there is one God, he cannot see someone equal to himself.
3. Mystery Question~Riddles, Take 5: King has no family
Answer: The king gave them all fake seeds and the little girl was the only honest child who didn’t switch seeds.
Congratulations on everyone who guessed correctly! And since no one has complained about the riddles, I’ll post three more!
Now for Mystery Question~Riddles Take 6:
1. Three women turned into roses
Once there was an evil wizard. He took 3 women from their homes and turned them into rose bushes that looked exactly alike. He put them in his garden in buckets. One of the women had a husband and children and begged the wizard to let her see them. He agreed. At night he brought the woman to her house. In the morning he came and took her home. Next day the husband decided to go rescue her. So he snuck into the wizard’s garden. He looked and looked at the 3 identical rose bushes trying to figure out which could be his wife. Suddenly he knew the answer and he took his wife home. How did he know which rose bush was his wife?
2. What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month?
3. What word when you add a syllable becomes shorter?

The ground being disturbed isn’t a factor, Monique–they were all in buckets…So guess again on this one, please. And I went back and made it clearer in the riddle. Thanks for stopping by each week! It’s always good to see you. 🙂
Okay, right when I thought I had it!! Thanks for the extra guess 😛 If she was indoors while the others were outdoors all night, they would be covered in dew, while she was not. Obviously, that’s assuming he went early enough, before the sun evaporated the dew…
Good morning. The 1st 1 is as Monique said, is the 1 that was uprooted. The 2nd is the letter R, and the 3rd is ‘short.’
The 1st 1 took me a bit to figure out but I got it, finally.
I love that whole passage from 1st Kings as it shows God’s love and patience with his weary and deeply depressed prophet. He sent an angel to prepare him food and water twice and then showed him how to listen and find Him in the gentle whisper. Beautiful!

The ground being disturbed isn’t a factor Pearl–they were all in buckets…So guess again on this one, please. And I went back and made it clearer in the riddle. I’m so glad you stop by my blog each Tuesday!
I was thinking the correct rose bush had something to do with thorns and scratching, but the rest of you are smarter. Agreed that #2 is the letter “R” and #3 is the word “short”!

Hi Delores! You’ll need to guess again on #1–I forgot to make clear the ground being disturbed isn’t a factor this time–they were all in buckets…So guess again on this one, please.(And you don’t think I’d make it THAT easy do you?lol) I went back and made it clearer in the riddle.
1, The replanted bush had the ground recently disturbed. But, she’s still a rose bush, so I don’t see how that helps dad and kids. Never did like wizards.
2. The letter R.
3. Short
Those are really ominous clouds in your photo. Isn’t it great that God is so powerful, but comes to us so gently?

Never liked wizards, either, Tim…but the ground being disturbed isn’t a factor this time–they were all in buckets…So guess again on this one, please. I went back and made it clearer in the riddle. 🙂 And I do love how God is so powerful, but comes so gently!
Well, this is certainly a thorny problem. I don’t think there is enough information to say precisely how the husband could tell. I’m assuming as a rosebush she couldn’t talk, so that wouldn’t help, though she seems to have communicated to the wizard she wanted to see her family. Did the wizard leave her bushy self outside her house? Did her husband bring her bush inside? Could they communicate while she was at her house? If I’d been the husband, I would have followed the wizard when he took the busy lady back to his place, and watched where the wizzard put her. I get the feeling I’m overthinking this.

He, Tim, I’m liking this riddle…you were on the right path about the wizard leaving all the rose bushes outside…
The only thing that I could come up with on #1 is that the roses were planted in different color pots and he recognized the color. I have to admit to looking at other people’s answer for the next two before I thought about it very much so I agree with “r” being in the middle of both months and short being the answer to #3.

Hi Diana! Good to ‘see’ you here. We’ll see Tuesday about the answers. 🙂
This week I have no brain left to guess….lol! For #1 my only guess is the flowerpot was either her favorite color, or was decorated the way she liked to decorate or some identifying factor that the husband would know it’s her for sure. The other two, I have no idea! You have me stumped 🙂

I’m glad I stumped you, Trixi! And next week it’s back to the blotter reports. lol. Thanks for stopping by!
