This week’s Mystery Question-Weird Lost-and-Found is a little different, but I think you’ll like it. Did you even know there was a place in Scottsboro, Alabama, that had LOTS of lost baggage? The Unclaimed Baggage Center covers a whole city block. I even went there once, but it was on a Sunday afternoon. They aren’t open on Sundays, the day I was traveling back home from Chattanooga.
But first the photo. Deb Smith, a friend of mine took this one of the Beaver Moon, and I loved it so much I asked if I could use it. She actually got up in the middle of the night to get this one. This November full moon, called the Beaver Moon by many Native American tribes as well as the early colonists coincided with a partial lunar eclipse.
Now for last week’s Mystery Question–Really Dumb Criminals. As always, three are true, one is made up. Can you guess which one?
- A 19-year-old who robbed a bank and stole a Pontiac posted a YouTube video detailing her crime.
- Right after a man was processed at the police station for drinking beer inside a grocery store, he decided to steal an ambulance to get home. An ambulance sitting right outside the police department. The police met him at his house and arrested him again.
- A man in a wheelchair was caught setting trash cans on fire. When police asked him about it, he said he lit them because he was cold. That might would have worked, except it was 115° outside.
- The hapless burglar posted selfies dressed in a Louis Vuitton outfit taken in a burglary, figuring the owner would never see the Facebook page. And she probably wouldn’t have, except the post of the man in a Louis Vuitton dress went viral.
And the answer is…#4! Can you believe the others??
Now for this week’s Mystery Question-Weird Lost-and-Found. Three of the following stories are true and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
- The Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Alabama, has many items you’d expect–flash drives, gloves, umbrellas, but there are a few national treasures as well…like a camera from a space shuttle.
- At Paris’ museum of the strange, aka the Bureau of Found Objects, is a wedding gown and matching shoes, found in the back of a cab. All items are new and cleaned and in a garment bag. Perhaps the result of an argument between the bride and groom to be?
- One of the strangest finds at one of the airlines happened some thirty years ago–a full human skeleton in a piece of luggage and never claimed after a flight. This was before the world went crazy and airports installed scanners to examine each piece of luggage.
- Workers at the Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro found a 5.8-carat diamond ring hidden in the toe of a sock and packed away in a suitcase.
Okay, Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments. Since it’s December, I’m giving away a $10 gift card. Drawing will be December 14th, the last Mystery Question blog for the year.
Be sure to take some to rest in these hectic days before Christmas.
Be sure to check out my Mystery Question blog today. Guess which story I made up about lost items! Leave your guesses in the comments section of my blog. #drawing #Mysteryquestion Share on XDiscover more from Patricia Bradley

Your friend took a beautiful photo, Pat. And I wonder how many times in the Bible the Pleiades are mentioned, or even Orion. Orion is my favorite constellation and the Pleiades my favorite asterism.
I love the lost and found idea for the mysteries of the week. People lose some of the strangest things. The strangest of all has to be a full human skeleton in baggage from an airplane. I wouldn’t have claimed it. In fact, I think you made #3 up!

Tim, I’m so glad you liked the photo…I’ll pass along your compliment! And we’ll see next week about #3. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by.
I’m kinda waffling here, but guess I’ll go with #3.
Author
We’ll see, Jackie. Tim didn’t influence you, did he? lol Thanks for stopping by.
I’ll go w/ #1, the camera from the space shuttle. The (folded) skeleton in a suitcase sounds hideous.
Author
Yes, it doesn’t Delores! We’ll see next week about #1. Thanks for dropping by.
These are quite interesting, and I can see them all being true. But I’ll guess #1 as the lie simply because I would think a space shuttle camera would be missed and want to be found.

We’ll see, Megan! So glad you stopped by!
I am going with #3.

We’ll see, Gloria! Thanks for stopping by.
Oh gosh all of these sound true! After all, they say truth is stranger than fiction, lol! I’ll make a guess and say #3 this week, but I can certainly see something like this being discovered in lost and found luggage.

Author
Maybe, Shelia…we’ll see. So glad you stopped by.
Your friend’s picture reminds me of one I took a week ago, the night after the Beaver Moon. I was not aware of the Beaver Moon nor a lunar eclipse. Great picture here and a great verse. By the way, I have read about the Christmas Star on December 21?
I think 1 is made up. It seems to me that anything from a space shuttle, especially something like a camera, would belong to NASA. I’m probably overthinking it.
Author
Edward, I had never heard of a Beaver Moon until my friend asked what moon was the November one, and I looked it up. Discovered it was called the Beaver Moon and there was a partial eclipse the next night. I love discovering things like that. And I have heard about the near alignment of Jupiter and Saturn on the 21st. It’s the first time in 800 years that they’ve been this closely aligned. I hope it’s clear that night!
We’ll see if it’s #1 next week! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Patricia! We’ll see next week if it’s #1. Thanks for stopping by!
I guess I’m going with #3.

Hi Diana! Number 3 is very popular. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!
I am torn between #1 and #4. I could see 2 happening and 3 could be a medical student or something related to the medical field. If they knew the camera was from a space shuttle, wouldn’t they return it to NASA? However, hiding a valuable of that sort in a sock; I could see that happening. I’m going to go with #4 simply because no one has picked it yet!! 😉
Author
Love your logic, Diane! 🙂 We’ll see next week…and you do know if it is #4, you spoiled my no-hitter. lol So glad you stopped by.
I’ll go with #1. The others seem to be somewhat believable.

I’m glad you think so, Kathy! Thanks so much for stopping by.
