More Lost & Found–I had so much fun with last week’s I thought I’d do it again. But first the photo in the meme. I caught this photo when I went out to pick up my neighbor’s paper on January 1, and when I read this verse a day or two later, I knew it was perfect for the photo!
Now onto last week’s First Mystery Question of 2021–Lost and Found: As usual, three are true and I made up the fourth one.
- Someone left a lifesized stuffed Spider-Man on the London Metro.
- A passenger left a stuffed warthog on public transport.
- Two years after a woman lost the diamond in her engagement ring as she walked from her office to the parking lot a block away, sunlight flashed on something in the grass. Yep, the missing diamond.
- Twenty years after a fisherman lost his wallet he was fishing in the same lake. Would you believe he pulled the old wallet out of the water?
And the answer is…#3. Congrats to all who guessed correctly. I don’t know how the wallet stayed together..but here’s a photo of it.
It seems that truth is stranger than fiction. Now onto this week’s Mystery Question.
More Lost & Found: Four found objects. Three were actually left behind somewhere, one I made up. Can you tell which one?
- On New Year’s Eve, an Uber driver found an artificial hand a rather tipsy passenger had left behind.
- A professor lost one of her books five years ago and recently ordered a used one on Amazon. It turned out to be the exact one that she lost.
- Sixteen years after losing her wedding ring, a woman found it when she dug up her carrots.
- A man couldn’t find his car keys and was late to work because his two-year-old son had borrowed them and put them in his toy car’s ignition.
Okay, Super Sleuths, which story did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a January drawing for a book from my library. By the way, one of my Christmas presents was this bookcase made by a friend.
Three weeks and Obsession will release!
Natchez Trace Ranger and historian Emma Winters
hoped never to see Sam Ryker again after she broke off her engagement to him. But when shots are fired at her at a historical landmark just off the Natchez Trace, she’s forced to work alongside Sam as the Natchez Trace law enforcement district ranger in the ensuing investigation.
To complicate matters, Emma has acquired a delusional secret admirer who is determined to have her as his own. Sam is merely an obstruction, one which must be removed.
Sam knows that he has failed Emma in the past and he doesn’t intend to let her down again. Especially since her life is on the line. As the threads of the investigation cross and tangle with their own personal history, Sam and Emma have a chance to discover the truth, not only about the victim but about what went wrong in their relationship.

I say #4

We’ll see, Mary! Thanks for stopping by.
I’m going with number 4 as well. The toy cars that I’ve seen have an ignition too small to fit a normal key… Otherwise, I can totally see this happening!! I lost a book for a week after my then baby sister had run off with it. I was really disappointed, thinking she’d probably ‘posted’ it in the rubbish bin. We found it in the warmer drawer of our oven!! (We used it to store oven trays and stuff, and it was in one of the bottom ones we rarely used!)

Monique, when I can’t find something, I always look in the refrigerator. 😉 Glad you found your book. Thanks for stopping by!
I would say #1.
Author
We’ll see, Linda. Glad you stopped by!
I’m going to go with #3.
Author
Hi Diana. We’ll see next week if it’s #3. Glad you dropped by.
I think you made up #4, Pat, though I sure would have tried that when I was a kid! I agree with Monique. I don’t think the real car keys would fit a toy car.

We’ll see, Tim…Always good to see you!
I have to go with number 4.

Number four is getting a lot of hits, Terri…we’ll see next week! Thanks for stopping by.
I’m guessing #4 as well.
Author
Hi Paula! We’ll see next week if it’s the popular #4. Good to ‘see’ you!
Either 2 or 4, but I think I’ll go with #4.
Author
Another one for #4. 😉 We’ll see, Elizabeth. Glad you dropped by and joined the conversation.
I’m thinking it’s #1. I would think his artificial hand would have been better attached than to come off.
Author
Love your logic, Suzanne. We’ll see next week! Glad you dropped in!
Beautiful pic. Very nice bookshelf. Awesome of your friend. I think I’ll go with # 3 just because I think 16 years is an awful long time to get back to a garden.

Hi Toni! I painted it myself with chalk paint and stain. 🙂 And we’ll see if it’s #3 next week! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks, Alicia! I just got word I’d get my copies tomorrow!! So exciting. Watch Facebook for a video of me opening the box!! And thanks for stopping by. We’ll see next week if it’s #4.
I think is is #4. His son having the keys makes sense, but I don’t think they would fit the ignition either.
I ‘ll go with 4. Love the bookcase your friend made!

Hi Betti. I love everyone’s logic in this one…but you know me and logic–it doesn’t always follow. lol But maybe this time it does. Thanks so much for stopping by.
I’ll go with #3 just to be different. Good luck with the book!
Author
Thanks, Kay! And we’ll see next week if it’s #3. 🙂 Always good to see you here!
The verse truly does go well with that picture. I like the picture and enjoy when I can get out early enough to see the morning sun coming up behind he trees.
I am going to be different just ’cause I can. I’m picking #2. They all seem feasible although #3 is really a stretch. But I’ll go with 2 since no one else chose it.
Author
I like your logic, Edward! We’ll see. And every morning I’m met with a different sunrise, it seems. Sometimes there are reds in the sky, but often it’s like this one with just the sun coming up. 🙂 Love seeing your photo by your name again!
I am going with #1.

Hi Gloria! Good to ‘see’ you here. 🙂 And we’ll see next week if it’s #1.
3 sounds like good.
Author
We’ll see, Lynn! Thanks so much for dropping by.
They could all be true! I’ll go with #4 like the majority
Author
Why, thank you, Joan. Always good to ‘see’ you here.
I’m going to go with #3.
Author
We’ll see, Megan. 😉 Thanks for joining in on the discussion!
I’m going to say #1. Love the scripture and photo. Blessings
I will go with #4 for the same as everyone else, it wouldn’t fit
I’m going to guess 3 because it made me laugh out loud! Your morning photo is lovely.
Author
I am so glad I started your day off with a laugh, Priscilla! We’ll see next week if it’s #3. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
As much as I would love it if it were true, I’m going to guess #1 as the one you made up!
Author
We’ll see Colleen! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope #1 is false….as a full time babysitter for my 4½ yr old & 26 month old grandsons, I can see the 26 month old “borrowing” my keys (which do NOT get left out!) & putting them in his toy car! There are several missing items that I have found under the seat of his ride toy!
Author
MS Barb, I can see you searching under the seat of his toy car for your keys. lol! We’ll see Tuesday if your grandsons are responsible for you getting the correct answer (if you are indeed correct)! Always good to ‘see’ you here.
Somehow I missed guessing on Tuesday. I blame pandemic brain, lol! I think that should be a “thing” 🙂
Anyway, my guess is #4 this week. Love the scripture & picture, they encourage me every week.

I think there is…a pandemic brain, that is, Trixi! lol Glad you like my scripture and photo. 🙂
