More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #6 is this week’s Mystery Question. But first the photo and verse. Again, Tim supplied the beautiful photo. He calls the flower a Fairyduster, and that is so apt. Well done, Tim! And this is a favorite verse–that the God who created the universe cares for me!
Now for last week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #5. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
- Q: “Mr. Slatery, you went on a rather elaborate honeymoon, didn’t you?”
A: “I went to Europe, sir.”
Q: “And you took your new wife?” - Q: “How many times have you committed suicide?”
A. Witness: “Four times.” - Q: “You say that the stairs went down to the basement?”
A: “Yes.”
Q: “And these stairs, did they go up also?” - Q: What is your relationship with the defendant?”
A: “He’s my son.”
Q: “Was he your son on April 1, 1998?”
And the answer is…#4. Congrats to all who guessed correctly. Now, try to think up one that’s not true!
Now for this week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #6. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
- Q: “Could you see him from where you were standing?
A: “I could see his head.”
Q: “And where was his head?”
A: “Just above his shoulders.” - Q: “What is your marital status?”
A: “Fair.” - Q: “Doctor, how many autopsies have you performed on dead people?”
A: “You did not seriously just ask me that…”
Q: “I did.”
A: “Evidently not enough, since you’re still here.” - Q: “Were you acquainted with the deceased?”
A: “Yes sir.”
Q: “Before or after he died?”
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing. April’s drawing is for a copy of Shattered Sanctuary by Nancy Mehl (or if you’ve read it, another book from my library.)
This week I’d like to share one of my all-time favorite songs (one being the operative word).
And I popped back into the post to let you know that starting today, April 14, you can get the audio version of Counter Attack here for half price!

Tim’s picture reminds me of a bush I have called the bottle brush.

Hi Pat! Actually I thought I was hitting #2! 🙁

If you’re sure you want to change it, Barbara… 😉
Thank you again, Pat, for sharing one of my photos. For more information on this bush, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calliandra_eriophylla. I love the verse you chose to go with it.
Thank you for sharing that rendition of “Shout to the Lord”. It’s one of my favorite praise songs.
#1. What we have here is a failure to communicate.
#2. Better than saying “I don’t have one”.
#3. Duh.
#4. I think I’d answer yes to the second question, too.
I really hope I never encounter these lawyers. I believe you made up #3.

You jumped on the bandwagon for #3, too, Tim? We’ll see. And thank you for your photo…it was beautiful. The other photos you sent will show up in the near future. 🙂 And I’m seriously considering posting the blog on Monday’s now since there are so many responses. lol
Beautiful picture, Tim. Thanks to you and Pat for sharing it.

It was my honor, Edward and Tim!
3 sounds false

Oh, wow, Charlotte, another one for #3…we’ll see.
Beautiful picture, what an unusual flower. Marriage status “fair,” haha! #2 earns my vote!

That was funny, Priscilla…next week we’ll find out if I made it up…
Wow, that IS an interesting and beautiful flower. Thanks Tim and Pat for sharing it! Indeed the scripture is perfect.
Going with #2

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a flower like it, Barbara. Fairyduster is a perfect name for it, too. We’ll see next week if it’s #2…
Me either, Pat, but I’d love to see one. I also noticed, I answered your answer to another Barbara. Sorry Pat and the other Barbara. There’s full moon out. We can blame it on that. . . But it was a beautiful moon last night.

It was a beautiful full moon, although quite small…in fact it’s called the minimoon because it’s at it’s farthest point in the orbit.
This photo of my fairy duster branch was taken 22 years ago. The bush was a fair size then. Now it’s nearly seven feet tall, and has quite a girth.
Author
I’d love to see that bush in person, Tim! Blessings!

Adding the songs is great and I SO love that verse! Your lawyer options are crazy. I totally hope you made up #3 or our society is in worse shape than I thought. Thanks and have a Blessed Easter!

It’s one of my favorite verses, too, Delores. And another one in the #3 column. We’ll see next week…
I will pick two. Loved the scripture!

I’m so glad you enjoy them, Carolyn. Just about the time I think no one is listening to the song, you come along and tell me you are! So I’ll keep doing them. lol Thank you!

Thanks, Caryl! We’ll see next week if it’s #2.
That is a beautiful picture. The verse is so meaningful.
I think I would have given the same answer to the first question. I feel sorry for the person in the second one. On the fourth, I’m trying to figure out how you would get acquainted with a deceased person. I think #3 was made up., I like the answers; however, a judge might think the second answer was a veiled threat.
Author
Love the way you figure these out, Edward. To me, most of these should be jokes, but I’m assured that they are true…except for the one I made up. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #3.
I’m going to choose #3 also.

Hi Winnie and welcome to my blog comments. We’ll see next week if it’s the very popular #3.
