Psalm 36:5

More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #11 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 55 Comments

More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #11 is this week’s Mystery Question. And from what I can tell, there are many more to come. 🙂

But first, the photo and verse. I saw the cloud as I drove home from visiting my friend Cheryl (Corinth Rose) and turned around to get a better view. I wonder how many things some of you will find in the cloud? And that verse for the photo seems to fit perfectly.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #10. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. LAWYER: Have you lived in this town all your life?
    WITNESS: Not yet.
  2. LAWYER: I’ll be brief, your Honor.
JUDGE: That’ll be the first time.
  3. LAWYER: How many times have you committed suicide?
    WITNESS: Four times.
  4. LAWYER: Were you alone or by yourself?

And the answer is…#2 Congrats to all who guessed correctly! And it’s getting really hard to come up with one that hasn’t been said!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #11. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. Lawyer: “Trooper, when you stopped the defendant, were your red and blue lights flashing?”
    Witness: “Yes.”
Lawyer: “Did the defendant say anything when she got out of her car?”
    Witness: “Yes, sir.”
    Lawyer: “What did she say?”
Witness: “‘What disco am I at?'”
  2. Lawyer: “Sir, what is your IQ?”
Witness: “Well, I can see pretty well, I think.”
  3. Lawyer: “What happened then?”
Witness: “He told me, he says, ‘I have to kill you because you can identify me.'”
    Lawyer: “Did he kill you?”
    Witness: “No.”
  4. Judge: “Do you want a bench trial or a jury trial?”
    Defendant: “Jury trial.”
Judge: “Do you understand the difference?”
Defendant: “Sure. That’s where 12 ignorant people decide my fate instead of one.”
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a print copy of Nancy Mehl’s Shatter Sanctuary!

I am going to say #3 since the witness is being questioned, it is obvious the suspect did not kill him or her.

Beautiful song! We sing it at church occasionally.

I love those clouds, Pat, and the verse you chose to match. I’m sure Barbara will find some interesting objects in them that I would miss altogether! Then I can say “I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQOuxByR5VI)

I don’t recall hearing Matt Redman before, but “10,000 Reasons” is a favorite of my church’s praise band.

    Lawyers…here we go again. 🙂
#1. No chance she’s walking from that one.
#2. IQ, YourQ, what’s the difference.
#3. And this is why we love the Tuesday blog!
#4. This is the only one that makes perfect sense. I think you made this one up, Pat.

I love Judy Collins’ voice, Tim and that is a beautiful song. Matt Redmond has some really good songs out there. 🙂 We’ll see if the one that makes sense is the correct answer next week!

LOL as soon as the clouds popped up, I started looking for things. After finding my objects, I later read Tim’s comment. Ha,Tim you’ve got me pegged. I did find a bunch: a face that has big eyes like Tweety Bird, polar bear on his back, flying seagull, shark fin, French poodle face, seal, rooster.

Great clouds, Pat. Thanks for putting them out there for us.

It was hard deciding between #1 and #4. I remember disco well!!! The first one made me burst out in laughter. #4’s going to get him a fine or a sentence for one. I’m going with this one because the judge’s question was in bold. I know that could be a ruse, but hey, it’s early.

I so enjoyed the song and signed and sang along. What a great way to start the morning with clouds and worship. I haven’t even had my coffee yet!

I am guessing #3 this week. I saw a dog face and big eyes in the clouds. I was wondering what Barbara would see.

Love the clouds, the verse and Matt Redmond’s song!
Can’t believe you made up #2 last week! lol To me it seems like something many judges would say.
    #4

It’s not impossible that judges say that, but it hasn’t shown up as something they’ve said in court. I’ve found so many sites that compile that sort of thing. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #4.

I love the clouds. I had to drive to a city about an hour north of us last Thursday. The clouds remind me of the ones I saw as I drive up the highway. Wonderful choice for the verse. The song goes well with such an inspiring picture and verse.

    1. I think that woman should have kept her mouth shut.
    2. I just got my glasses adjusted today. I’m still trying to figure out my IQ.
    3. I think this lawyer may have been experiencing some issues with his IQ as well.
    4. The only thing he could have said worse than this response might be: “That’s where 12 ignorant people decide my fate rather than a block of wood.” I think this was made up. Surely a person who was smart enough to know the difference would have worded it different.

The verse goes perfectly with that beautiful picture! 10,000 Reasons is a great song always, but I absolutely love the Matt Redman version.

My guess for this week is #3. No particular reason except I would hope the lawyer wouldn’t be QUITE so foolish.
