More Crazy State Laws #59 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 49 Comments

More Crazy State Laws #58 is this week’s Mystery Question. When I started these crazy laws, I had no idea there were so many crazy laws.

But first the image and verse. Again, a meme from last December reminding us the Reason for the Season. I’ve always loved Christmas. Does it seem to you that everyone is nicer this time of year? There’s just something about it that generally brings out the best in us.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
  1. Whatever you do in this state, don’t drive over one of their active fire hoses or you’ll be arrested.(AK)
  2. Pie-throwing is banned in this state, sorry Soupy.
  3. Oh, and pinball? Here they might throw you in jail if you win 25 games in a row. (AR)
  4. Here you can’t take a selfie with a tiger. (NY)

And the answer is…#2. Congrats to those who guessed correctly!! I can’t believe there has to be a law against taking a selfie with a tiger!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
  1. Warning other drivers about a police officer in the area can get you a hefty fine.
  2. Here wearing clingy or body-hugging clothing carries a $25 dollar fine.
  3. When two railroad trains meet at a crossing, there’s a law that states each shall stop and neither shall proceed until the other has passed.
  4. This state prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sundays.

Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a $15 gift card on the 15th…

My dad was a railroad man and I can picture #3 being on the books somewhere (and it drastically needs rewriting. Drone photos would show some interesting situations. I’ll go with #4 and I can’t imagine who would enforce it or how. You find some dillys!

Great picture and verse. I find it comforting how many times in Scripture God, or and angel, tells us not to be afraid. God LOVES us, and we have nothing to fear.

    Let’s see…
#1. If this is a law, Google navigation is in trouble. I’m often warned of a speed trap ahead.
#2. The clothing cops must have a field day with this one.
#3. Trains meeting on the same track is not a good thing.
#4. Guess you need to be married if parachuting on Sundays is your thing.
I think you made up #1.

Tim, I agree that God loves us, and we have nothing to fear, but I think If I saw an angel, especially Gabriel, I would be afraid! 😉 And I love your reasoning on the crazy laws…we’ll see next week if it works…

I’d like to think it’s #4, but unfortunately there are just some states that would actually pass such a law — and I think, ENFORCE it nowadays.

Actually, I can see every one of these being in some state or another. You do a very good job of making up the false one. I’m going to guess #3.

Thanks for the reminder of what Christmas is about. I heard the following song on our Southern Gospel station last year. I heard it again the other day. I love it and believe it carries a great message.

So for the crazy laws. I experience the same thing Tim does. However, I remember being told when I was a young driver that it was illegal to flash your headlights at oncoming cars to warn them of a speed trap. Doing that was prevalent many years ago. Maybe it wasn’t true. The second one sounds like a great way to bring in a lot of revenue if it was enforced. I’m still trying to sort out the third one. I’m unsure if it’s referring to two trains on the same track or two trains on intersecting tracks or two trains on parallel tracks. In either case, it makes sense that they should set there until they figure it out. I’m choosing #4. Prohibiting single women from parachuting on a Sunday could result in loss of life if the plane was going down. If faced with certain death versus a fine, I think most people would take a chance on tge fine.

Jesus is definitely the reason for the season. When my kids were growing up we always baked Jesus a birthday cake and sang to him.
    I’ve actually heard of #1
I’m guessing #3. They would both be sitting there forever unless one chose to break the law.

I am going with #3 although I could see it being a poorly written law somewhere. Neither train would ever move with the way this is written.

    I love the picture!!!

A bit late getting on. Lol

I also used to flash my lights at cars. HOWEVER, where we lived, in TX, at the time, gang members used that ploy to turn around and shoot at cars. So I stopped doing it. . . Even if cars forget headlights in rainy weather, I just say a prayer they will remember to turn them on soon.

I am going with #3. Didn’t get a chance to run these by James.

Think I’m going with #3, think that use to be pretty common, I know I have flashed my lights a lot and appreciate others doing as well. But, like Barbara said, my husband told me not to ever do that for whatever reason because it’s connected to gangs now, they’ll come after you!
