More Crazy Lawyer Gaffes #10 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 45 Comments

More Crazy Lawyer Gaffes #10 is this week’s Mystery Question. But first, the photo and verse. My friend Cheryl took this on their last trip out west, and I loved the colors and rock formation. It reminded me of En Gedi, where David ran from Saul. You can see more of her photos here. The verse is the first one I thought of when I saw the photo.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #9. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He’s 20, much like your IQ.
  2. ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
  3. LAWYER: Were you acquainted with the deceased?
    WITNESS: Yes, sir.
LAWYER: Before or after he died?
  4. LAWYER: Did you accompany the defendant to Nashville?
WITNESS: I refuse to answer that question.
LAWYER: Did you accompany the defendant to Philadelphia?
WITNESS: I refuse to answer that question.
LAWYER: Did you accompany the defendant to Las Vegas?
    WITNESS: No.

And the answer is…#4. Congrats to all who guessed correctly!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question–More Funny Lawyer Gaffes #10. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. LAWYER: Have you lived in this town all your life?
    WITNESS: Not yet.
  2. LAWYER: I’ll be brief, your Honor.
JUDGE: That’ll be the first time.
  3. LAWYER: How many times have you committed suicide?
    WITNESS: Four times.
  4. LAWYER: Were you alone or by yourself?
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments, and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!

And I’m excited to announce that “Mississippi Magazine” featured Deadly Revenge in their May-June issue!

This is one of my favorite videos. And one of my favorite songs. I hope you enjoy it, and it will come to mean something to you.

I don’t know which part of your blog I look forward to the most, the photo & verse, the riddle, or the music clip. You always choose a great one!

Like Priscilla, I choked on my coffee, but on #1. Then I got to #3 and decided not to take that sip.
    James is going with #3
The photo and verse are fantastic. They both blessed my heart.
Congrats on being in the Mississippi. I’ll read it after I post this and enjoy the rest of my coffee without!

Great photo and verse to go with it. I encourage everyone to have a look at Cheryl’s photos on her web site linked above. These are worth of publication in Arizona Highways Magazine! Her close-up photos of flowers are intriguing, and the landscape photos are amazing. Thank you, Pat, for leading us to Cheryl’s photos.

Congratulations on making Mississippi Magazine, Pat! And, thanks for another great CW music video.

Now for the astounding brilliance of these world class lawyers:
#1. Maybe the witness was planning a move.
#2. The only way lawyers can be brief is when they file one.
    #3. Must be a zombie.
#4. Guess this didn’t deserve an answer.
I will say you made up #2.

I love the picture and verse. It’s been a number of years since I was out west and saw the beautiful rock formations and colors. I hope to go back out there with my wife in the next few years. Our travel schedule has been off for over a year now. It’s time to go “On the Road Again.”

I have heard that song many times, but I had never heard Kris Kristofferson’s story before. Thanks for sharing.

I am choosing #1. I heard Bill Gaither in the 1970s tell about a young smart aleck asking on elderly gentleman in a restaurant if he had lived there all his life. Without missing a beat, the gentleman responded: “Not yet.” I have used that line a fair number of times since then. Until I draw my last breath, I have yet to live on this earth all my life. I realize Bill could have read about the lawyer and adapted it for their concerts.

I believe I have also heard the second and third ones. The fourth one seems to indicate something lacking in the upper story, or maybe it was an attempt to clarify the question in case the witness didn’t understand what “alone” meant.
