More Crazy Laws ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 47 Comments

More Crazy Laws is this week’s Mystery Question. I meant to have a different post, but I couldn’t find the information I’d planned to use. I’ll run across it one day and you’ll see it pop up here. 😉

But first the photo and verse. I called the photo A Cold Winter Day when I shot it because it was cold and the title just seemed to fit. Then I ran across this verse today and thought it fit perfectly!

Now for the answer to last week’s More Strange Happenings. Three of the following statements are true and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
  1. A meteor hit the home of a family with the last name “Commette.”
  2. Two seatmates on the same flight discover that they have the same name and the same birthday.
  3. One woman survived the TitanicBritannic, and Olympic shipwrecks.
  4. When a 10-year-old girl released a red balloon, it traveled over 100 miles and landed in the yard of another 10-year-old girl with the same name.

And the one I made up was #2. Congrats on all who guessed correctly! I was amazed when I read #4–that was quite a coincidence.

Now for this week’s More Crazy Laws. Three of the following laws are true and I made up one. Can you guess which one?
  1. You cannot park your horse on Main Street in a town in this state.
  2. One town in this state makes it unlawful to walk backwards after sunset.
  3. Here it is illegal to get married on a dare.
  4. All men driving motorcycles must wear shirts in this state.

Okay Super Sleuths, More Crazy Laws is this week's Mystery Question. Four laws, three true, one made up. Which one did I make up? Leave your answer in the comments and I'll enter you in a January drawing for a book from my library. Share on X

Tough one this week! I’m going with number 3 because it’d be hard to detect if a couple is before the justice of the peace or a minister on a dare. Even if the JOTP/minister asks, the couple could lie.

Oh, the photo! Stunning. Wow! This took away my breath. The Scripture fits to perfection. Wish you could have heard my gasp when I opened the blog. One of your best, Pat.

I’m leaning towards #3 or #4 hard decision, okay #3?????

I’ve read Blood Kin several times. It’ll be fun to hear it read. Can’t wait to discover what part of the story you’re reading. I feel like I should be playing suspense music on the piano or something! lol

    Blessings!

Hi Barbara! Thanks for reading Blood Kin…I’m reading the whole story. I think I may read the first chapter of Fatal Witness and put it on the website…
As for the state laws answer…we’ll see next week. And I’m so glad you liked my photo. When I first saw it, I literally gasped.

Pat, I love that photo. It looks like it might have been taken while flying. I have read several Scripture verses today that reflect the same thought as the one you paired with your photo. I’ll be pondering those thoughts throughout the day.

Considering your list of crazy laws…
#1 Might be true today, but in the past, I don’t think so. When would this law apply?
#2 Sure makes sense to me, but do we really need a law? Wonder what the penalty would be?
#3 Now, this one is really funny. Who would know unless someone admitted it?
#4 Hopefully, they’re wearing something more substantial than a shirt.

#3 really looks suspicious, but I’m saying you made up #1.

Tim, I love the way you attack these state laws. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #1…And I thought that about the photo, too. It almost looked like it was snapped from an airplane window…

That is an awesome picture. Beautiful! The verse suits it.

Those are all crazy laws. I’ve seen signs on numerous retail stores requiring shirts and shoes. Like Tim, I’ve wondered why that’s all they required. If a customer is going to omit something, I prefer it be their shirt or shoes than their pants. But I don’t make the laws. I think helmets are more crucial than shirts for motorcyclists. It seems strange that only men are required to wear shirts when driving a motorcycle. What about women? I think this one is made up.

Hi Patricia, I’m very undecided between #1 and 4…. Everyone tied their horses up on Main Street on Gunsmoke , and I’ve never heard of it being required to wear a shirt either while motorcycle riding, and I’m thinking what a terrible sunburn that would be, helmets would be more important surely. I’m taking a wild guess of #4. Love your photo and verse!

I too thought your photo was taken from an airplane. It’s gorgeous and pairs so wonderfully with the verse!

These laws!! This is a total guess because I just can’t decide…#2. Thanks for another fun post!

I’m going to say #3 is your made up one Patricia. I’ve heard of a lot of dares in my life, but I would think if you got married on one, it would still be legally binding so that you’d have to either get an annulment or divorce if you didn’t mean it. We’ll see if my logic is correct next week, lol!

Love the picture, one of my favorite things are watching the clouds go by. Sometimes they look like different things (dog, cat, etc). Fun to watch them!
