More Crazy Laws #68 ~ MYSTERY QUESTION

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 52 Comments

More Crazy Laws #68…Do you ever wonder just how many of these laws are still on the books?

But first, the photo and verse. The verse was in my Bible reading for Monday, but I claimed it last week! In case you didn’t know, I went to the National Religious Broadcasters conference in Dallas, and it was a wonderful trip. God really blessed me with two TV interviews and a meet-and-greet with the fabulous Eden Hill of the “All-American Book Club” on DC’s WMAL.com station.

Now for last week’s More Crazy Laws #67. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. It’s against the law here for women to be unshaven. (NM)
  2. Here, you can’t hunt in the cemetery. (NM)
  3. Should you get caught letting your underage child pump gas here, you can be arrested.
  4. If you trip your horse here and it gets hurt, you’ll be charged with a felony. (NM)

And the answer is…#3. Who would’ve thought? But then again, I don’t see many children pumping gas… Congrats on all who guessed correctly.

Now for this week’s More Crazy Laws #68. As usual, three are true and one is false. Can you guess which one?
  1. You can’t sell cat or dog hair here.
  2. In this state you can’t ride your mule down Main Street in one city, but you can in another.
  3. Here, you can’t marry the same man more than 3 times.
  4. Want to send a pizza as a surprise? Don’t do it here as you may be subjected to a $500 fee.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments and I’ll enter you in a drawing for a book from my library!

The winner of February’s drawing is Robert Faber!

Earlier I mentioned that I talked with Eden Hill of the “All-American Book Club” on DC’s WMAL.com station…Click here to listen to the February podcast where I talk about Fatal Witness!

I’m going with #1. I have spun Samoyed dog hair into wool for extra warm yarn for garments in northern Canada, so I imagine there is a paying market in some areas but not all. I love these. Keep it up!

Beautiful photo and the verse is a good reminder for most of us.

    Congratulations, Robert.

I will check out your video interview, Pat.

Ah, the crazy laws. Over time, I’ve concluded all of these “laws” might have been enacted over the years. Is there anything that legislators have not made into a law, no matter how stupid?
#1. Why limit just dog and cat hair? Seems like there are a lot of mules out there, too.
#2. Oh, mules. So, there are mule free zones?
#3. I’d say if a woman wants to marry the same man more than 3 times, I’d wonder about the sanity of both of them. Maybe we do need this law.
#4. Naw. A $500 fee for giving a surprise pizza? Ah, surprise me. I promise I won’t rat you out.
I think you made up #2, even though there probably not many mules in town to make this an issue.

Alligator taking a bite, airplane (lots of airplanes),helicopter, man making a muscle, hands holding a cauliflower, hippo with open mouth, another hippo, only angry, eagle flying, 3 people sitting on a panel, frog, flying owl, person resting their hand on their chin. . .just saying!!! 😉

Loved that Scripture and you know I loved the photo!!!! lol

Now for the hard part of deciding which law you made up. Going with #4

#1. As tempting as it may be to have a fluffy sweater to have your beloved pet’s softness throughout the day, I’m not sure it’s possible to weave pet hair. I’m thinking it would be extra silly to make a law against something you can’t do in the first place.

That’s funny, Joy! Actually, I think you can weave some dog and cat hair–I’m thinking the long-haired type…(see Delores’ comment) But we’ll see next week if it’s #1.

I am guessing #3 this week.
Watching the llamas chase reminds me of us chasing out son’s Walker Hound dog, George, around our neighborhood. He lets us get close, grins, and takes off. Ugh!

Number 3 is very popular, Gloria! And I’m with you on the video, but it was my neighbor’s dog that would slip past her out of the house and off he’d go. I chased that dog for half an hour once until I wore the fat little boy our. lol And me, as well. But the lady’d had a stroke and couldn’t chase him.

Caption for the picture: Clouds of Worry. A good picture and the verse fits so well.

    1. Why would they need such a law? Who would want to buy cat or dog hair? Well, here’s a possible answer. Skip to 3:30 here: Aaron Wilburn
    2. I wonder if you can lead your mule down the street in those cities. I would probably get confused and ride mine in the wrong city.
    3. Sometimes you need a dumb law to protect dumb people from their own dumbness.
    4. I would prefer to deliver the pizza personally.

I’m choosing #2. But just in case, I will stick to driving my truck and leaving the mule at home.

I’m torn between 1 and 4. Never heard of selling dog or cat fur, and I hope they weren’t shaved to get the fur ?? Also can’t imagine getting a fine for surprising someone with a pizza ? These are crazy ones, I’m taking a wild guess of #4.
Love your verse and photo Patricia!
