More Crazy Laws #51 ~ Mystery Question

Patricia Bradley Mystery Question 46 Comments

More Crazy Laws #51 is this week’s Mystery Question…and the crazy laws just keep going on and on. Surely something happened for the lawmakers to come up with these laws. But some of them have me scratching my head.

First the photo and verse. The photo is from a close friend down in Florida. If you look really close, you can see it’s a double rainbow. And Philippians 4:19 is one near and dear to my heart.

Now for last week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
  1.  Dogs in this state are prohibited from chasing people or other animals. (KY)
  2. Don’t pull to open a door in this state–all doors must open inwardly.
  3. In this state, coal owners must supply their employees with an “adequate supply” of toilet paper for each toilet. (OH)
  4. Here biting off someone’s limb will land you in prison for one to twenty years. (RI)

And the answer is..#2…From the number of doors that open inward, I’m surprised there’s not a law. lol Cograts to all who guessed correctly!

Now for this week’s Mystery Question about crazy state laws. Three laws are on the books somewhere and I made up one of them. Your job is to figure out which one I made up…
  1. Here it’s illegal to modify the weather without a permit.
  2. Better bring your fishing rods here–it’s illegal to catch fish with your bare hands.
  3. It can cost you $100 here if you only sing part of the national anthem.
  4. In a city in this state, it is illegal to ride a camel down main street.
Okay Super Sleuths, which one did I make up? Leave your answers in the comments, and I’ll enter you in an October Drawing for a book from my library.

Love the beautiful double rainbow picture! God’s promise to mankind.
I’m going with #1 this week. I’m not having very much luck lately guessing the right one.

Mary, I had an opportunity to ride a camel once and turned it down because I was bordering on vertigo…didn’t think it was a good idea. lol We’ll see next week if it’s #4.

Thank you for the reminder that the storms of life will pass, but God will remain faithful.
    I’m guessing #3 this time.
    Have a great week!

These are nuts but I’m going with #3. By the way, I have caught a fish with my bare hands (in Alaska), and it was delicious.

Oh, that beautiful double rainbow! Such a wonderful promise. The verse has been a blessing to me for years as God has supplied my needs over and over again.

I’m going with #3, but I really wanted #1. lol I got last week’s correct. I almost fell out of my chair! That’s twice in the last six months. Hahaha!
    James is going with #2

Pat, I love double rainbows, and that verse is so comforting!

I was going to say I’m waiting with bated breath for “Deadly Revenge” to release, but I’ve read that this practice is not healthy if done for too long. However, it’s on preorder so I’m definitely not going to miss it when it drops.

    Now to the dumb laws.
#1. A permit required to change the weather seems reasonable to me.
#2. I’m sure fish would prefer you catch them with your bare hands, rather than a hook. The fish lobby is working overtime.
#3. I’ll bet there’s a good income from people who fail to sing every verse of the National Anthem.
#4. If I can’t ride my camel down main street, can I tow it instead?

Do legislators lie awake at night thinking these up? At least they’re keeping you supplied with wacky laws, Pat. I will say you made up #4 this week.

Tim, I think there’s a law somewhere against waiting with bated breath. Or maybe it was baited breath. I can’t remember now. 🙂

I love your logic, Edward. Even a shout out to Ray Stevens. Wow, now I’m going to be listening to Ray’s songs all day. I think you baited me into that. 🙂

Thank you, Priscilla! As for the laws, I figure for most of them something happened in the state for them to be enacted…people do crazy things, you know. We’ll see next week if it’s #3…

I am guessing #3. There are many things that could keep someone from being able to finish singing the anthem.

I am going with number one. I have seen two double rainbows where I live. I was so amazed I did not get a photo either time.

Pat, I love that picture and the verse.

I am scratching my head over the laws this week as well.
    1. Is this law referring to the weather report, or did they make it illegal to actually effect a change in the weather?
    2. Is it okay to use bear hands to catch fish?
    3. What is the penalty if you sing the entire national anthem? What about those who slaughter the national anthem?
    4. Ahab the Arab better not visit that city. He’d be in big trouble.

I have to agree with those who chose #4 as made up.
